Let me get this straight... USC extends their lead in both polls after not setting foot on the field this weekend? Really? Why not just give them an automatic berth into the BCS Championship while you're at it.
Good to see ECU in the Top 25, but I think 14 may be a bit too high, from the AP. I think a spot between 17-19 would've been better. Looks as if they may have a walk in the park for the rest of the year; UCF could be their biggest challenge left.
Also nice to see the Badgers in the Top 10, even after stumbling out of the gate in both of their games, thus far.
T? C? C?

Miami doesn't get any votes for keeping it close with #4 Florida?

when the hell did covering the spread mean keeping it close?

It was a 9-3 heading into the 4th, and the spread was barely covered with a field goal with 20 seconds left.

miami didn't cover the spread. spread was 21.5, they lost by 23.
i don't understand complaints about ecu's ranking being too high. they beat the defending acc champs, then #17 va tech. then they blew out the defending big east champs, then #8 wvu. who has a better resume than that so far? why is ohio state ranked ahead of ecu?

I want to know what ignoramus voted for Notre Dame in the USA Today poll. They barely beat a real lousy SDSU team. Watch them beat the worst Michigan team in the last 40 years and sneak into the top 25...
I would vote Oklahoma #1 right now if I had to.
Cal wins a conference road game 66-3 and they only get 25th? I thought they looked decent against a pretty good Michigan State team in the opener, once they figured out the QB problem. MSU might wind up 3rd or 4th in the Big Ten, not a bad win at all.

pnf fails once again.
people are putting too much emphasis on ohio game, just about every national contender in just about every year struggles in a game they should win easily.not to mention that OSU didnt have their future heisman winner. no big deal though, a week isnt much to wait for #1 spot.
i dont have any complaints regarding ECU, their resume is the most impressive in the nation so far.

Didn't Terrelle Pryor play on Saturday?

Pryor is the only possible future Heisman winner on that team. Beanie has nothing on Knowshon.

Turco, unlike you I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade. You know what the OSU-OU game was to me? A freaking embarrassment. Even the players acknowledged this fact. As such, OSU deserves to drop (not plummet, since they did take control of the game in the 4th) and while I'm not high on Florida right now they handled a much better team much easier.
High 5, stud or anyone who's seen them, can you give me a brief rundown on Auburn? Not sure what to thing of Tuberville's Tigers.

philip,i ll give you USC,Georgia, Oklahoma maybe even Florida among teams that can be considered better than OSU but if you think Missouri is a better team at this point you are out of yer mind. if you are ranking just by 2 week performance, why not cut through all the BS and put ECU at #1 ?

I honestly haven't seen any of Auburn so far this year, but some of my Auburn friends were complaining about the new spread offense. I don't know any stats or anything, but I imagine it's the same as it has been for a few years. Really good defense, solid running backs, no real passing threat unless your defense sucks. They'll hang tough with anyone but I don't see them winning the west.

Missouri did just lay the wood to a pretty good Illini squad and Daniel looks just as good as last year, if not better. Put it this way: I'd have no problem with OSU leapfrogging the Tigers if they go out and trounce Illinois in Big Ten competition. Goodness knows they'll probably vault over them before that game even happens.
It's not that I don't believe Ohio State is worthy of a top-5 billing, but they sure as hell haven't played like it and I will dock them for it. I tried to be consistent with that too (see Alabama).
