i never thought i would see a day where a directional michigan team would have recieve more votes than michigan team.

The only way for coach Rodriguez to savage the season is to win at OSU. I don't see it happening, but the Buckeyes must be careful and not fall into a trap game.

I expect Buckeyes to win big

If OSU loses to Michigan, then I get Turco's stereo.

texas tech and oklahoma is huge. i'm hoping for a big mess. i hope this also means the end for conference championship games. i could see if texas gets a chance to redeem themselves against tech. then a conference championship would have meaning. but what if missouri wins, that would make them the BIG12 CONFERENCE CHAMPION. what a joke. thats just spitting in the face of ok,tex, and tech. the pac-10 is doing it the best, play each and every team. we send oregon state to the rosebowl against penn state, and pick up that BCS check. then USC gets out of the rosebowl, been there done that, and we matchup in another BCS bowl and get another BCS check. while missouri gets what for their conference title? the weedeater bowl?

they win the conference title and they get a bcs bowl game along with likely another big 12 team

how so, if texas is ranked #3, they would get a BCS game. texas tech goes to the national title game. oklahoma goes to a BCS game. and missouri goes to a BCS bowl game??? impossible.

first yay Iowa got some votes

and missiouri would have to get in the BCS because they won the conference championship game
and if missouri does win, then that would probably mean that Tech would not go to the Title game, because they would have lost somewhere and would probably be left out because of the late loss

if missouri wins Big 12, nobody from that conference would go to the NC game and probably get replaced by USC. and BCS can not put more than 2 teams from any one conference in a BCS bowl game so at least 2 of the 3 contenders in Big 12 would get shafted in that scenario.

Oklahoma probably needs to win big this week to have a shot BCS title, if they win a close game they wont pass Texas and longhorns would head to the big 12 title game and most likely to the NC.

assuming Oregon st wins pac-10 and Utah goes undefeated, BCS bowl teams are pretty much set. if one of them slip up, i would guess that Big 10 will send 2 teams to the BCS bowls, much to the chagrin of college football fans. hopefully MSU will beat penn st and that wont be a problem.

go bucks and go spartans

Since I work with someone who went to Michigan State, I really hope they win and somehow sneak into the Rose Bowl. Of course that would require Michigan to beat OSU at the Shoe...HA!

However, a Rose Bowl of OSU vs OSU sounds interesting.

Miami does not deserved to be ranked at all. They're a cleaner version of Florida State (when will I ever have the chance to say that?). Neither does Oregon for that matter.

Hopefully the universe will correct itself and Oregon State does drop one of their final two games to give USC the Rose Bowl berth and have the Civil War be for a Holiday Bowl berth. And judging from last week's performances, this is not out of the realm of possibility.

One of Utah or Boise State (my pick is Boise) deserves a top-5 billing. The Big XII is the nation's best conference, but the fact that they don't play every team merits a self-correction in the polls (i.e. Texas and Oklahoma should drop down).

really, didnt know that? i thought texas tech was a lock already in the big12 title game. and win there, they would be big12 champions and champs of their conference.

and how would texas would pass tech into the NC title game? should tech lose a game, theyre record would be identical with texas. and of course, they beat the longhorns.

Tech is far from a lock, they still gotta beat oklahoma to advance which may be the toughest defense they played whole year. if tech wins they are in big 12 title game, if not things get messy.

should Tech lose to Oklahoma, then there would be three way tie in Big 12 South in which case highest ranked team in BCS standings would go on to advance to the Big 12 title game. that team would be in all likelihood Texas since they got the computer and style points by beating Oklahoma somewhat convincingly and only losing to Tech by smallest of margins in an away game. that is unless Oklahoma goes on to blow out both Tech and Ok St following week in which case pollsters might be tempted to put Oklahoma over Texas.

are u sure OU wouldnt be ranked higher since both teams will have played t tech and osu (assuming OU wins this game, a road game) and then the next toughest opponent played would be tcu, which oklahoma played.

i think ou will come out on top

it could certainly go either way. but i think computer points will be very close and essentially human polls will end up deciding who comes up on top. and when you look at the games three teams played with each other(assuming OU wins out),

Texas-neutral site win and close away loss
Oklahoma-neutral site loss and home win
T Tech- close home win and away loss

certainly Texas has the upper hand. on the other hand, Oklahoma has the advantage of TCU win and closing out the season against solid teams. i think it is going to come down to how impressive Oklahoma looks last 2 games.

its all messed up. regardless of who wins the game, tech has a right to state the facts that they flat out defeated the long horns. horns up on oklahoma, yes. horns up on tech, no.

I don't understand this. Not arguing against it, just trying to understand it. If Mizz wins the Big 12, pollster will not be eager to put Tech, Texas, or Okla on the big game since they didn't even win their conference.

I keep hearing that USC would replace them; however, there is a chance they will not win their conference either. So wouldn't it be a hypocrisy to put them in and leave Big 12 team with 1 loss out?

it would be a hypocrisy but unfortunately that is what college football is about around this time of the year.in that scenario, i would actually put Utah in the game if they go undefeated and if we go with teams' resumes, even though Utah is nowhere near as good as the teams mentioned above.

couple things to mention regarding USC s chances in that scenario,

-if things hold up in Pac-10, USC will actually win share of their conference. Oregon st will win the tiebreaker for the purpose of deciding who goes to Rose Bowl but officially, pac-10 awards joint championships when two teams have identical records. pac-10 fans can correct me if i am mistaken.

-if a team that doesnt play in Big 12 championship plays for a national championship, then you are looking at a team that is technically 3rd best in their conference playing for national championship. though, it would be different if Tech beats Oklahoma but loses to Missouri in Big 12 championship, i dont think anybody could deny Tech at that point.

-USC got their loss very early in the season and against a team now appears to be in surge and have a shot to finish in top 15 by the end of the season. it is always easier to recover from early season loss in the polls. they also drubbed the team that is likely to finish top 10 in their OOC matchup.

-pollsters and media have a hard on for USC squad. you already heard from talking heads, how USC in fact the most talented team and should be in the national championship despite their ranking, i would say they ll be looking for any excuse to put them in the game.

obviously anything that could happen at that point but my educated guess would be USC going to the game in that scenario. that being said i still dont see any big 12 south team losing to Missouri.
