Most seem about right, but a little surprised T.Tech only fell 5 after getting blown out. LAKESHOW should be happy that USC is back in the top 5 (he'll complain that they should be #1, but that's just predictable). Not really sure what Oregon has done to deserve to be in the top 20...most likely pity votes.

And to follow up on a comment made to TyCobb last night...Oregon State is right about where I thought they would be at 17. If they make it past the Ducks next week (pretty good chance seeing as how the home team has a huge advantage in the Civil War and this is in Corvallis), I can see them maybe around 13.

USC deserves to be in the top 5. I think Fl should be #4, not 2.

My Top 5 would look like this:

1. Bama
2. Texas
3. Oklahoma
4. Florida
5. USC

Texas is going to get screwed out of a shot at the NC.

Agree 100% with everything you said. Your top 5 is good. To me, it should be Texas representing the Big12, not Okla. But that's not going to happen.

can we have a playoff please

Florida and USC are the 2 best teams in the country, and they wont have a chance to play each other

only in college football does this happen

Have to say, I'm quite frustrated with Oklahoma getting placed above Texas. I understand that because of the 3-way tie, it's unfair to give Texas the nod just because they beat Oklahoma. However, the Texas-Oklahoma game was not a home game for Texas, and Texas loss to Tech took place at Tech (which Oklahoma didn't have to do) after an incredibly brutal stretch. It's basically a given that Texas will have had a significantly tougher conference schedule than Oklahoma, and yet still managed to have as good of a record. How can you not give the nod to Texas?

That aside, it's going to be very interesting to see what hijinks the voters get into over these next few weeks. As we saw two years ago, they are not above voting against their actual belief to get a matchup that makes more sense (Florida's leapfrog of Michigan after playing terrible in the SEC championship - which it turns out was the right thing to do), but this time around more dramatic actions might be taken. Consider that if Florida beats Alabama there is the possibility that Oklahoma and Texas will become #1 & #2 in the BCS even if Florida is ranked #1 in the polls. How far will the voters go then to make sure we don't have an intra-conference title game? Beyond that, if the voters end up with a significant split between the two Big 12 schools, we could conceivable see some voters pushing each school down to help Florida out.

Good times.

I did overstate it. I do think not having to play Mizzou and getting Tech at home is a pretty big deal though.

I'll re-state it a bit more conservatively: When you lose to a team in a neutral site, shouldn't there have to be something pretty dramatic to be considered better than them? I have a hard time considering a close road loss against a Top 10 team after an incredibly hard 4 game stretch something so dramatic.

I will also say though, that part of the reason I was thinking so sweepingly before was because I hadn't really thought about the upcoming Oklahoma State game. If the Sooners do another blowout there, I could possibly changing my mind.

USC SHOULD BE #3 RIGHT NOW!!

1. sec team
2. big12 team
3. USC

if any one of those teams fall, USC should be in the title game. should florida defeat alabama, BUHBYE! USC IN TITLE GAME.

this is a travesty of justice!
