BCS Selection discussion

Post#1 » by El Turco » Sun Dec 7, 2008 10:53 pm

they ll announce the games at fox after the afternoon football games. mostly likely matchups;

Title Game: Florida vs. Oklahoma
Fiesta Bowl: Texas vs. Ohio State
Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs. Utah
Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati
Rose Bowl: USC vs. Penn State

Ohio State and Utah might switch places but one of the Fiesta Bowl organizers yesterday said they wont pass up on Ohio State, so i doubt it.

I cant wait to see the matchups, and who gets snubbed in the BCS.

My BCS predictions

Title Game: Florida vs Oklahoma
Fiesta Bowl: Texas vs Ohio St.
Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs Utah
Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech vs Cincinnati
Rose Bowl: USC vs Penn St.

I really hope Utah and Ohio St. switch places, I want to face that Ohio St. defense. lol

It looks like they have confirmed two bowl games.

Florida State and Wisconsin accepted berths in the Dec. 27 Champs Sports Bowl, the Seminoles' first postseason appearance in Orlando since 1984.

In addition, Georgia and Michigan State will square off in the Capital One Bowl on New Year's Day, Florida Citrus Sports announced.

And also Ohio St. receives a large bid in the BCS.

But the fact that Ohio State was not available for the Capital One Bowl to select means the Buckeyes are headed to the BCS, joining Penn State from the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are expected to fill a slot in either the Fiesta Bowl or Sugar Bowl.

Come on, please let them play in the Sugar Bowl.

Va Tech vs. Cincy is the only lock, and is sure to be a huge snoozefest.

It looks like we will be playing Utah. Not what I wanted, but it still will be a good game.

went as i expected. tostitos couldnt resist Ohio State s charm/

this was one of the best matchup Ohio State could ve gotten. Texas' defense is shaky enough were Pryor can make couple mistakes and get away with it while Ohio State s D has enough talent to stop Texas' offense. it is going to be a close game.

ill go with, Florida, Ohio State, Alabama and Cincy.

Oklahoma is in for a shock....they are playing a team who actually plays defense and has a spread out attack....That and a month for Meyer to prepare? Yikes I will pick Fl by double digits......

From foxsports:

"The Longhorns' consolation prize? A date with Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl and an outside shot at finishing at No. 1 in the final AP poll and claiming a share of the national championship."

if Florida beats Oklahoma in a close game and Texas destroys Ohio State, there is a chance AP might award the championship to Texas while Florida would win the BCS title. i dont see it happening though.

Being that this game will be so heavily hyped, I doubt they have title share. If it was Fl vs T Tech..maybe. But a match up between 2 titans...No way. The winner will get sole possession of the title.

Texas Tech got screwed with that only 2 teams from a conference rule just like Wisconsin got screwed a couple years ago.

Ohio State should not be in a BCS bowl.
