6 points or 4 points for QB?

Post#1 » by GameTime_3 » Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:09 pm

I have been fighting about this for some time with my leauge and msot keep saying to change from 4 points to 6 points on QB TD's. Please help me. Give example why its good or bad for the league to change. Everything else the same but 6 pts for QB.

Cliff Levingston set up the scoring for his league like this:

25 yards passing = 1 point
Passing TD = 4 points
Passing INT = -1 point
10 yards rushing = 1 point
Rushing TD = 6 points
10 yards receiving = 1 point
Receiving TD = 6 points

ICLO, the positions should be relatively balanced. If a running back and a quarterback both have a "good" game, they should score roughly the same amount of points. Figure a good game for a QB is 250 yards and a couple TDs while a good game for a RB is 100 yards and a TD. The points would work out as such:

6 points for passing TDs
QB = 22 points
RB = 16 points

4 points for passing TDs
QB = 18 points
RB = 16 points

Cliff Levingston was in a league where it's 6 points per passing TD last season and guess who's team won the championship handily?... the guy who had Tom Brady. Granted Brady had a record 50 TD passes but Brady was so far and away the best scorer in the league it wasn't even competitive.

6 points for passing TD's is a recipe for brady to go number 1
