Danger of QB/WR combinations?
In a recent draft, I ended up with both Brees and Colston. I was a little leery of picking both, but decided to make the best value pick and sort it out later.
that said, what do you all see as the dangers of having such a tandem on your fantasy roster? benefits?
I should note that this league rewards equal points for TD passes, receptions, and runs.

As long as each player isn’t your number one fantasy option for each position, I don’t see any harm in drafting a tandem. Obviously, with a QB/WR tandem you run the risk of one’s sucking hurting the other’s production but you can really take advantage of situational match-ups, like facing the Bengals, for example.

Bye week is also something to consider. It's best to spread them around as much as possible, picking multiple players from the same team is not the best way to start.

ya don't forget about bye weeks, as long as you have sufficient depth, you should be ok

Who ever is in your league are chumps, and you should talk smack all the way to the bank. In most leagues brady and moss are going from picks 3-8. If they do 70% as good as last year your golden.
I got Brady at pick 4 but moss was gone by pick 7.

Depends on league scoring. In a lot of leagues, anyone taking a WR first round ought be laughed at.

Re: Danger of QB/WR combinations?
If you don't pick an RB in your first 2 rounds, your team is usually in deep crap. Brady and Moss would easily be good enough to make up for that if they lived up to last year's performances, but that's incredibly unlikely. Look for something closer to 4200 yards and 34 TDs from Brady and 1400 yards and 15 TDs for Moss.
At that level I wouldn't want them to be my first 2 picks.

Re: Danger of QB/WR combinations?
Back to the topic in general, I wouldn't generally want a QB/WR tandem to be my 1st option at each position, but you have to take the best value on the board. You don't avoid a better player due to the tandem issue. The problem with the tandem is just the inconsistency of total points since they effect each other it makes you slightly more prone to boom or bust.

i support this post
does this also apply to top TE's as well, would you want to avoid combinations of Romo/Witten or Manning/Clark on the same team?

Re: Danger of QB/WR combinations?
It probably does more in the case of Manning/Clark than anybody else. Clark is used more as a slot receiver in the Colts' set, so he should be treated accordingly. On the other side, most (good) TEs tend to become more involved in the passing game if a starter goes out. TEs are usually the check-down go-to options for inexperienced QBs if the primary reads fail.

I got Romo/Witten... It worked quite nicely lastyear and I plan on it workign for me again..
I do, however, have both Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison and am a bit worried on how that tandem will work out... Harrison fell too far for me to pass on him.

I have very bad memories from last season of Reggie Wayne completely outworking Harrison. Harrison would be good to have as a back up in my opinion.

We play 3 WR in my league along wiht a Flex... I got Reggie Wayne, TO, Marvin, and Derrick Mason
Basically, I'm planning on starting Marvin every week unless you think Mason is worthy of starting over him. PPR league
