Fantasy Playoff Heroes Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Shady Franchise » Tue Dec 9, 2008 2:47 pm

This is an appreciation thread for all those fantasy studs that have won you games in the playoffs. My dedication goes to Antonio Bryant from TB. He single handedly won me the first round of the playoffs this year with his 200 yrd, 2 TD game getting me a whoping 25 pts. I was down 18 pts heading into MNF, with only Antonio Bryant, and M. Bryant (TB Kicker) to go. I thought I was done and out when Bryant missed that first TD attempt in the first half and the score was 3-3, only to find out that he turned things around and got 2 TD's in the second half. THANK YOU ANTONIO BRYANT!!!!!! I NEVER TRUELY GAVE UP HOPE AND YOU REWARDED ME NICELY!

My playoffs are starting this week (made it in 2 out of 4 leagues)
so i'll just name some players who helped me get there

Team 1: Clinton Portis, Thomas Jones
you guys were huge all year for me, on a team with a ton of rb's and not many wr's you carried me
Honorable mention to Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers and Tennessee's defense

Team 2: was my first experience with defensie players, and there was a lot of rotation, but one guy managed to stick around: James Harrison, while Rivers, Ronnie Brown, and Jones Drew helped carry the team in the beginning, Harrison and Greenway helped the defense lead the charge late in the year

Didn't have to rely on any on person, had to rely on a TEAM DEFENSE. IT was the Ravens and they came through big.

I almost lost though because some stupid manager dropped all his players for keeper prospects including MJD, which i picked up. The guy I was playing was down a RB so if he would have picked him up, i would have lost, my opponent also go tthe Vikings defense for nothing. I would have been pissed.

I'm playing a powerhouse team this weak and I'm hoping for a big game from my running backs AP and I'm finally starting DeAngelo Williams.

I picked up Ravens DST mid way through the season after someone dropped em and they had my 3rd highest score behind cutler and bryant this last week....so I tip my hat to them too!

Westbrook, and Pierre Thomas. Last week my #7 team destroyed the # 2 team, who happens to be the super cocky commissioner of the league making it even sweeter.

Westbrook isn't practicing this week either, which is a great sign. He should never practice. Its not like he doesn't know what to do . . .get him out there healthy and fresh.

And the Pittsburgh Defense . . .they **** ed people up last week.

Yeap Lucky Pierre! I'm down 10 going into MNF, but hes' outta guys and I have Westbrook. If Westbrook can't get me 10 against that Browns, then theres not much else I could have done.
