Week 8 Start/Sit

Post#1 » by CJ_18 » Tue Oct 27, 2009 3:54 pm

Which defense should I pick up for this week?

Chicago Bears vs CLE
San Diego vs OAK

and should I drop Celek and pick up Vernon Davis?

So I got a tough one this week after a major sit or start blunder on Wk7....

I've got Gore, Bradshaw, Marshawn Lynch, Hightower and recently acquired Shonne Greene.

For all you Gore owners, you know that the Niners might throw the ball more with Alex "Turnover" Smith starting at QB and playing the Peyton Manning led Colts which doesn't bode well for Gore's Fantasy #'s....Luckily I have Indy's defense.

Gore and Lynch have the highest projected #'s....Which two RB's would you start?

San Diego and yes pick him up, both easy choices.

I traded Jacobs for Forte, hoping Forte gets it going this week against Cleveland.

So now I have to choose between Bradshaw or Sproles or Choice. I started Choice last week but of course he got no touches because Dallas is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) and evil.

I'm leaning towards Sproles against Oakland but you just never know how involved he will be, and unfortunately my league doesn't count return yards, so I'll probably go with Forte/Bradshaw.

I got beat to grabbing SD and Arizona defense too, sucks. I have GB's defense so I guess it's my best option for the week. Hopefully they can force Favre into a few turnovers or something.

I am never, ever, EVER benching Miles Austin again. If I had used him last week I'd have won easily. I am now sold that he is legit. I don't expect as big of games as he's had the last two games, but he clearly is a legit option for Homo to throw to and I expect him to continue to put up solid numbers.

Wayne/Collie/Miles Austin with Mario Manningham, Lance Moore, and Torry Holt on my bench, I think I have a nice WR crew. I just wish I had better RB's. Please Forte, get your mojo back!

Need to start 3 WR of this bunch
DJAX vs NYG
M. Austin vs Sea
D. Hester vs Cle
M. Crabtree vs Ind
V. Davis vs Ind
B. Edwards vs Mia

I hate to bench DJAX, but that is sort of where I am leaning right now with starting Hester, Austin, and V. Davis.

Opinions?

Definitely do not bench Miles Austin. I learned that the hard way, and I am not benching him again. Of course now that I start him he'll come back down to Earth I bet!

But yea, I'd go Austin, Hester and Jax(Giants defense is overrated IMO and he's too good to bench).

Vernon Davis is amazing too though so that's a tough call.

I am being offered Mike Bell for Ahmad Bradshaw, should I do it? I currently have Brandon Jacobs, Tashard Choice(useless unless Barber or Felix get hurt again) and Sproles.

Should I???

EDIT: Bell is facing Atlanta, Carolina, St. Louis, and Tampa in the next 4 games. This intrigues me.

PPR League

Reggie Bush @ ATL or Moreno @ BAL

Moreno is usually the obvious choice, but the Baltimore D is sick

Crabtree @ IND or Cotchery @ MIA

Cotchery is my usual choice, but Miami controls the clock so well.....

I was leaning Bradshaw (actually, I change my mind daily). Dolphins are 4th against the run. Bradshaw is going to see time on passing downs in Philly, and with thier blitzes I expect Eli will check down a lot. Maybe Boss and Smith are the recipients of those looks though? I dunno...

No PPR, 10 yards rushing/receiving = 1 point, 6 points per TD.

Pick 1 RB: Moreno @ Baltimore or Fargas @ San Diego.
Pick 1 Flex: Moreno/Fargas, Steve Smith (NYG) @ Philly or Steve Smith (CAR) @ Arizona.

Other league, same scoring. Pick the flex spot:
- Marshawn Lynch vs. Houston
- Brandon Marshall @ Baltimore
- Steve Smith (NYG) @ Philly
- Hakeem Nicks @ Philly
- Mike Sims-Walker @ Tennessee

Just made a trade. Now it's Burleson, Bradshaw or Greene for my flex. Burleson against that Dallas secondary, right?
