Keeper league deal : Rice for Colston

Post#1 » by CrookedJ » Mon Nov 16, 2009 7:36 pm

I've been offered this deal in a 20 team keeper league

(we keep 16 players)

He gives:

Marques Colston
Julius Jones
Elvis Dumervil

for

Sidney Rice
Bernard Scott
Justin Forsett

I took over a really bad roster for this season and have been rebuilding..I now have Ray Rice, Ahmad Bradshaw, Mike Bell and then basically stockpiled young backs ones with potential like Forsett, Scott, Moats, etc in hopes of catching a few gems.

My concern with Rice is that if Farve is not back next year I can't have my #1 wr being thrown to by Tavaris Jackson. My team is in 13th place so this year is not the issue...

(My other Wr's -anthony gonzalez, lance moore, jacoby jones ...so not much there, although return yards count so jones is a weekly starter)

Although this bleeding lung with Julius Jones is hardly optimal....

I've never done a keeper league, but I would think that Colston has higher value than Rice. I know both are having a good season, but as you said what happens to the Vikings QB situation next year, or the year after? Colston is young, and Brees is only in his 9th year, so I think they will be around for several more years.

I'm not sure the value of the other players.
