ALERT: DJax OUT, Torain STARTING & other Sunday news

Post#1 » by Maritimer » Sun Nov 13, 2011 1:47 pm

He missed a meeting and is being benched. He wasn't catching many balls but his targets will be going elsewhere. Boost every pass catcher's value, but especially Jason Avant's.

EDIT - Topic edited. Post your last minute tips and advice here.

I saw that, I guess he forgot to set his alarm....wow, what an idiot. Sucks for the Desean owners, I checked in my league and the owner wasnt going to start him anyway

The owner in my money league has him on his bench, but in my other league he's being started. As commissioner, should I give him a heads up? It's an old college friend of mine, but on the other hand it's kinda every man for himself, right?

If you're reading this and you're plying in a keeper or dynasty league, get your hands on Jeremy Maclin. I can't see Jackson coming back next year, or if he does its under the franchise tag and then he's gone. Maclin is by far the better complete receiver and is poised to be a top 10 WR for the next 5-10 years IMO.

I think as Commissioner you have no obligation to tell him at all...I am also the commish and I wouldnt say anything. If he is your buddy and you want to look out that is ok IMO.

I am also suprised he is benched for the whole game and not just a quarter or half, I wonder if there has been repeat violations.

Maybe we'll make this a new weekly thread? Last minute advice, tips, gut feelings, etc.

Looking like a windy day in Cincy. Gusts up to 40 mph -- gotta like both defenses, but I especially love the Steelers' DST this week. Apparently Dick Lebeau led Steelers' defenses are 11-1 against rookie QBs. Cincinnati has been able to protect Dalton by putting him in situations where he hasn't had to take many risks, but I think he's going to have to take risks to beat Pittsburgh. The Steelers are WAY below the number of takeaways you'd usually expect, and I don't think that'll last. As for position players, I don't think you bench any studs, but I think you downgrade expectations for Green and, if you were starting him in a deeper league, Dalton. Slight uptick to Heath Miller.

Apparently Washington is going back to Rex Grossman. I think this downgrades Helu a bit, since a lot of his value came from Checkdown Beck. You like Washington's deep threats (Hankerson and Armstrong) a tiny bit more in deep deep leagues.

Deep sleeper -- Mark Clayton. Active today for the Rams, and the team's official Twitter account had this to say:

Yes, WR Mark Clayton is active. Expected to play a lot. Don't be surprised to see a lot of Clayton and Lloyd on outside, Pettis in slot.

Bradford loved him last year. Definitely worth a look in PPR formats.

I learned long ago to not even bother with any RB's on a Shanahan team anymore.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

I'm convinced that Shanahan makes his game plan decisions over Fantasy Football Projections. If one of his guys is projected to do well, He benches or doesn't play them as if they other team is actually going to key on his guys based off of FF Projections.
