Should the Red Sox start Eric Hinskie over Wily Mo Pena?

Nah. Even if Hinske were better, I think the marginal improvement he would provide is easily outweighed by the necessity of seeing what exactly the Red Sox have in Wily Mo Pena.

Hinskie is the better option because is a prototypical 4th OF. Pena needs to start a lot to play well, you can't just have him come off the bench and expect him to produce alot.

Pena is the better option. He's just a better player. And I also don't buy the fact he needs to be out there all the time to help the club.

For an extened amout of time, Pena is the option, if Drew gets hurt and goes on the DL or Manny takes off 2 weeks, then put Pena in there. But if Crisp, Manny, or Drew is just getting the night off, put Hinske in there

I would use Pena regardless of the time. He's a better player with a better future.

I'd have to say I was not that impressed with Youk in the OF. Maybe the defensive numbers say otherwise tho. Pena can look odd out there sometimes, but he gets to almost everything.

You can live with Youk playing Leftfield in Fenway.... its not big at all, Youk wouldn't need to cover much range, and if anything gets by him the batter would only get a double.

Yeah I suppose, but then the other issue is that Youk is a much better first baseman than Ortiz is out there. While I know Pena can make mistakes out there, I don't think him playing the OF is a big issue.
