Rate My Team(s)

Post#1 » by Bac2Basics » Sun Aug 29, 2010 8:49 pm

I'm going to have multiple teams this season, haven't drafted them all yet, but wanted to get some feedback on the ones I have.

CBS 12 Team League
Standard Scoring
We'll call this one Team 1

QB - Joe Flacco
RB - Frank Gore
RB - Ryan Grant
WR - Roddy White
WR - Donald Driver
WR - Derrick Mason
TE - Heath Miller
K - Adam Vinatieri
D - Saints

Bench
Ben Rosthlisberger, Amhad Bradshaw, Justin Forsett, Johnny Knox, Jacoby Jones

There was a guy that didn't show for the draft that ended up with Sidney Rice & Vincent Jackson so I've got a trade into him to see if I can upgrade at WR, but how did my draft go as is?

I think you are pretty solid, I am really high on Gore this year. What pick did you get him? You got two WR's that could have great years in knox and jones. Mason and driver are pretty old, but both should still have good years. Getting Big ben as a backup is solid, considering he is starter quality later in the season. For a 12 man league, I like your team.

I had the 4th pick, so I left Ray Rice on the table for someone else, but I'm high enough on Gore that it should be ok.

My first 3 picks were Gore/White/Grant
Wasn't going to go RB with two of my first three, but Ryan Grant in the 3rd was too good to pass up.

I am suprised you passed up on Rice for gore, but I agree he is gonna have a great year.

Team two weak at back up WR. Addai is totally underrated. Last year was the 12th best RB in FF, but get's drafted around 55-60

If Addai stays healthy he is gonna have a really good year, I dont buy into the donald brown taking his spot hype

I think Brown is a lot better then Addai. I don't see him taking his spot, but I see it as a straight up time share, although Addai will probably get the majority of goal line looks.

I dont think they are in the same league, when addai gives it 100% which he will this year because it is the last year of his contract he can make anyone miss and is much more dangerous as a receiver than brown. When brown gets a whole he blows through it, but he cant bounce one to the weak side as well as addai can.

Looking for opinions on my team I just drafted in my 20 team ESPN league. I had the 14th pick in the 1st round, and it was a standard snake draft after that.

QB- P. Rivers, M. Sanchez
RB- D. Williams, D. McFadden, M. Lynch
WR- L. Murphy, P. Garcon, T. Owens, J. Morgan, D. Bess, D. Jarrett
TE- A. Gates, A. Fasano
D/ST- Cleveland, Tennessee
K- Vinatieri

My other team, standard 10 team ESPN league, had the 7th pick.

QB- A. Rodgers, B. Favre
RB- M. Turner, L. McCoy, J Addai, D. McFadden, F. Taylor
WR- B. Edwards, D. Jackson, S. Moss, L. Evans, D. Henderson, D. Bryant
TE- T. Gonzales
D/ST- Minnesota
K- G. Hartley

I know I'm gonna have to work the waiver wire when my TE, K, and D/ST have bye weeks, but I preferred going with the additional depth at WR and RB, since I have a lot of those guys with similar bye weeks.

10 Team league. 7th pick. This is actually my first time playing fantasy football.

QB Matt Schaub
RB DeAngelo Williams
RB Cedric Benson
WR Andre Johnson
WR Johnny Knox
WR Dwayne Bowe
TE Brent Celek
K Ryan Longwell
DEF Ravens

Did a live draft over my buddies late last night (paying for it right now in Physics lab, which is where I'm typing this...) Anyway, backing up Schaub with Roethlisberger. WR Vincent Jackson, Santana Moss, Chris Chambers coming off the bench. Clinton Portis and Jerome Harrison backing up RB. Owen Daniels and Greg Olsen backing up Celek, who I didn't even at first remember that I picked. Longwell will be kicking by himself until his by-week. Finally, Ravens D and Bears for back-up.

How do you even rate a 20 team league team? Cliff Levingston would rather be in Siberia than be in that league.

Great at QB (obviously) but the rest is questionable. McCoy could lose all red zone work to Bell/Weaver while Addai could lose his job to Donald Brown and is currently hurt. McFadden is a sleeper and Taylor is almost worthless. Your WRs aren't anything special outside of Jackson but it looks like your best bet for a #2 receiver would be Santana Moss right now. Gonzales could be good but don't expect huge numbers. Cliff Levingston would probably put you near the bottom of both of his 10 team leagues.

Really nice team except for the running backs, which aren't bad. Not high on Williams compared to likely other guys you could've got there, but Benson is a really nice RB2. Portis will be lucky to play a half a season as worn down as he is while Harrison will lose his job to Hardesty at some point. You need some help there. Otherwise, you're filled everywhere else very nicely, nice job. Next time though only pick one backup tight end if any at all. In this case, you won't play anyone other than Celek except in week 8, so drop Olsen for a fRB handcuff; either Larry Johnson or Bernard Scott.

Are you not worried about MJD's injury?

Any team with Jay Cutler as their starting quarterback is in for a world of hurt.

We had our draft tonight, I ended up with 6th pick and we have an 8 team league. Here's the roster, any suggestions?

1.Maurice Jones-Drew 2. Frank Gore 3. Miles Austin 4. Roddy White 5. Desean Jackson 6. Chad Ocho-Cinco. 7. Joe Flacco 8. Jason Witten 9. Pierre Thomas 10. Pierre Garcon 11. Bernard Berrian 12. Baltimore Ravens 13. Clinton Portis 14. Donavon McNabb 15. David Akers

I think my QB is probably my weakest position but I can most likely live with Flacco and McNabb swapping depending on matchups. It's only an 8 team league so most teams have pretty good depth. Any suggestions?

I like it a lot as long as Jones Drew stays healthy. I think I would have rather seen you grab one of the top 7 "elite level" QB's in an 8 team league though, with one of your earlier picks and then picked up Flacco or McNabb late.

I'm not super high on White either. Not down on him, just not as high as others.

You should have got another RB or two as well. Your receivers are pretty stacked, but you have incredibly lame depth at RB, especially considering you took MJD as your #1 pick and he's a little questionable with the whole knee thing.
