Trade Help! (Urgent): Marshall/Walker for Welker/Smith

Post#1 » by Rapsobsessed7 » Wed Sep 8, 2010 4:30 pm

the trade is this: (i end up with Marshall)

Steve Smith (CAR)
Wes Welker

for

Brandon Marshall
Mike Sims - Walker

my team would then be

QB: Farve/Palmer
RB: Peterson/Deangelo/Slaton
WR: Marshall/Jennings/Walker/Mccluster
TE: Gonzales/Carlson
K: Crosby/Longwell
DST: 49ers/Patriots

so should i pull the trigger on this deal?

Seems like a no-brainer to me, but I guess it depends on where you feel Welker ends up by the end of the year, and whether or not Marshall is being overhyped. I know some feel that Steve Smith is going to bomb out this year, but I'm not really concerned about that.

what do you think of sims walker though. Hes the one that scares the **** out of me. Both Welker and Walker are risks. Welker could get hurt and doesnt score a lot of touchdowns. Sims walker has only one good year in 4 years and always hurt too and had 9 bad games last year and 7 unreal ones. Marshall for Smith is a no brainer for me too.

i just think sims walker could be easier to trade than Welker.

I have no faith in Sims-Walker to be consistent on a week to week basis.

On a seperate note, not thrilled with your QB situation

little update on my fantasy trade. I did 3 trades today that were proposed to me basically what it is.

Trade 1 Sent: Brandon Marshall + Mike Sims Walker
Trade 1 Received: Steve Smith + Wes Welker

Trade 2 Sent: Mike Sims Walker + Tony Gonzales + Patriots DST
Trade 2 Received: Anquan Boldin + Heath Miller + Chargers DST

Trade 3 Sent: John Carlson + Mason Crosby
Trade 3 Received: Santionio Holmes + Visanthe Shiancoe

basically in total i sent:

Smith, Welker, Gonzales, Crosby, Carlson, Patriots

for

Marshall,Boldin,Miller,Shiancoe, Holmes, Chargers

crazy i know but as soon as one trade went through i had proposals off the roof and i wanted rid of sims walker. I got Visanthe Shiancoe because hes better than Heath Miller and hes a decent backup. My team is now.

QB: Farve - Palmer
RB: Peterson - Deangelo - Slaton
WR: Marshall - Jennings - Boldin - Mccluster - Holmes
TE: Shiancoe - Miller
K: Longwell
DST: 49ers, Chargers

what do you think of my team? My wide receivers improved a lot, i mean look at those. Same QB situation unfortunately but i can fix that , i won it last year and im gonna let everything simmer after the amount of trades today and see how everyone does. I feel confident with my TE situation now that Rice is out Farve will go to Shiancoe more.

Let holmes finish his suspension and then ill package him with a QB and try to upgrade. I wont do that for a couple weeks though, busy day and i wouldnt have done the trade without the Boldin follow up which was agreed to before. What do you guys think of my team?

Nice trades.

Smith+Welker for Marshall+Boldin is a win
Gonzalez+Carlson for Shiancoe+Miller is a wash (I'm a little down on Gonzalez and high on VS though)
D's are a wash
Any kicker for an eventual #1 WR is a win

thats how i saw it too. Holmes is an asset even if he doesnt start on my team (other than Bye weeks) i can ride him out and see how he does and then use him as trade bait because he will be good. Slaton i feel will be an asset too. I think Palmer + Farve + Holmes eventually can get me a solid QB (manning for example).

my only competition is this guys team

Tony Romo
Steven Jackson
Micheal Turner
Chad Ochochinco
Randy Moss
Calvin Johnson
Jason Whitten
Pacers D
Jay Freely

he has no bench though because of the trades hes done. He is my only competition, i won last year and he lost to me in the finals.

How the hell did you pull off trade #3?

I'd see if you can upgrade your RB situation (depth) , Slaton's not going to do anything and you don't really have anyone else.

he drafted Shayne Graham who got released by the ravens. Shiancoe was his backup, he has Gates starting so Carlson would be the backup to Gates. Crosby starts for him and he threw Holmes in i dont know why lol but i just accepted.

i feel he could be back to his old self. Reason being because theres no pressure, when he had no expectations he did amazing he was a 1st round pick, now i got him with the last pick in the draft. I just think he will take his starting spot back from Foster. What do you think of my team compared to that other guys team.

also which QB would you guys target? Is Phillip Rivers a big upgrade over Farve? Im afraid of him without Jackson.

Is your league filled with middle schooler's and 40 year old's with careers and kids that have no clue?

How did you pull any of those trades off?

This has to be public league asshatery...

Edit: And yes, IMO Rivers is an enormous upgrade over Favre. Favre is going to be turrible this season. He'll throw 20 picks...

so you guys think i should do something like.

Farve + Palmer + Filler (Holmes or MIller) for Rivers + Fillers

and i know i pulled off some crazy deals but i still lost this week... the guy i played had foster and yeah just didnt go to well lol, i mean i have a chance still if Boldin has a huge game but i doubt it. Im really looking for a QB now though.
