Week 8 Start/Sit

Regular season stretch run time lets make some good decision boys.

.5 PPR:

Ugly week for me with byes (Roddy and Hillis) and injuries (Collie, Addai). Luckily I'm facing the last place guy. Unfortunately he has Andre and Wayne (to go along with Brady and Mojo...hopefully they keep crapping the bed).

If Gonzo is 100% (VERY nice matchup vs. Houston and he could take advantage of doubles sent at Wayne), pick two:

Gonzo vs. Hou
Woodhead vs. Minny
B. Jackson @ NYJ

Non-PPR:

Not a start-sit decision but I have two trades offered to me. My RBs are McCoy, LT, Bradshaw, and S Jax while my receivers are Colston, Britt, Wallace, Floyd, Gonzo.

Trade 1:
LT for Miles Austin

Trade 2:
S Jax for Andre

I'd rather keep S Jax but I'd definitely rather have Andre now that Romo is done.

Also, I stream defenses in both leagues so who would you pick out of the following Ds for a spot start:

In one league
Tenn @ SD
KC vs. Buf
Sea @ Oak

In my other league
TB @ Ari
Mia @ Cinc
STL vs Car
Oak vs. Sea
Wash @ Det
SF vs. Den

Lots of questions, but its a big week for my teams. Thanks in advance.

1. Tennessee @ SD...that's who I'm starting this weekend.
2. Tampa Bay @ Arizona....Has Arizona even scored this year? HAVE YOU SEEN MAX HALL?
3. GONZO + B Jackson

My turn...I'm lost on my receiver corps. Pick 3 of 4:

Terrell Owens
Michael Crabtree
Lee Evans
Miles Austin...

The only for sure I have is Austin vs. Jax.

Tough ones. After the DMC debacle last week, I'm hesitant to give any advice at all. However...

I would need to be absolutely certain about Gonzo to start him. If you are, then the guy to bench is Jackson. The Jets have given up only one rushing TD all year. Woodhead won't explode, but in a .5 PPR he won't give you nothing like Jackson potentially could.

Both seem fair. Austin is now a high end #2 WR. Jackson and Andre are both first rounders (in a draft today, they'd probably go within 1 or 2 spots of each other, and in no particular order). I will say that I still don't buy that LT will be this productive all year long. I think as the season moves into colder months, Greene will get a little more of the work to keep LT fresh for the playoffs. That's just a hunch though.

I have KC's D going against Buffalo, but I'm starting to worry a little bit. They're no longer the totally inept offense we thought they were. However, I'm not buying Tennessee this weekend -- would it surprise you if SD goes for 35+ and wins going away? Flip a coin between KC or Sea -- both should give positive points.

In the second one, I'd be thinking hard about St Louis. Carolina gives up the most points to fantasy defenses of any team in the league, they're on the road, and the Rams are starting to play like a Spagnuolo defense.

I think I'd be sitting Crabtree. All three of the first three guys listed could go for 30 yards and no TDs or monster yards and a TD or two. However, there are all kinds of things working against Crabtree and the SF offense -- a Denver D that got embarrassed last week and needs to bounce back, the travel factor of getting to England, and Troy Smith as the starting QB. I don't feel good about it though... my gut reaction was to bench Evans, but who knows what the Buffalo offense will do in KC.

Pick 1 please

Wallace @ NO
Mike Williams (TB) @ Arz
Steve Smith (Car) @ stl

my money guy Roddy White is on a bye so right now I'm going with Steve Johnson (Buff) and need to pair it with of these guys, i'm inclined to go with Smith right now as this will be his 2nd game back from injury and he still had bout 50yds in his 1st game, I would assume he would be the safe target for their QB. I'm just worried Car pulls a donut and doesn't score at all as Stl did put a # on SD 2 weeks ago.

Williams.

As for me, Danny Woodhead, Amendola, or Michael Crabtree?

^^^liking Amendola, why Williams? Arz is decently ranked against opposing WR at home.

Meant to say Wallace actually.

Garcon is on waivers friday

Would you drop santonio holmes, deion branch, or mike williams (SEA) for him?

**** yes. I don't have any strong feelings about which one, but I'd rather have Garcon than any of those guys. I guess Williams. He's had a few good games, but he's also the least likely to keep it going IMO.

I would drop Holmes.

Jahvid Best vs. Washington or Jennings vs. Jets for my flex player.

I'd go Best.
- RB over WR
- Jets secondary
- Stafford could be check down city in his return
- Washington's defense gives up passing yards/TDs to RBs, and in general their defense is no better than average (despite the performance in Chicago last week).

My turn now. With Turner and Maclin on bye, I have a bunch of equally talented people I need to choose from. Hopefully this gets some debate going. Keep in mind that Deangelo Williams looks like he won't be playing this weekend.

RB - Lynch (@OAK), Wells (v. TB), Best (v. WAS), Greene (v. GB), Stewart (@ STL)
WR - Welker (v. MIN), S. Smith (@STL), Colston (v. PIT)

Need 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex. Leaning Lynch, Wells, Best, Colston, Smith.

RB- Lynch and Best
WR- Colston and Welker
Flex- S.Smith

As for me again, Big Ben or P. Rivers? (leaning with Ben), Owen Daniels or Tony Moeaki?

Interesting, you'd go with Welker or Smith over Beanie Wells, even though he's going up against TB's 2nd worst run defense? How come?

I'd be leaning Rivers. I'm a Steelers fan, but a Rivers owner in both leagues. I think NO is going to come out geeked up for a prime time game, and if there's one thing the Saints' defense did well last year it's create turnovers. Rivers is at home against a secondary that gives up a ton of plays to WRs.

I'd also go with Moeaki. Indy is one of the best in the league at shutting down TEs, and the Bills have given up 7 TDs to tight ends in their last 4 games.

Tennessee vs. struggling San Diego or New England defense vs. Crappy Minnesota?

I'd go New England -- bigger turnover opportunity, since they're either getting a hobbled Favre or a Tavaris Jackson. San Diego always finds a way to pick it up in the second half of the season, and while their run D is excellent their pass D could well be picked apart by Rivers.

Don't forget to help out others...

.

I just have a complete lack of confidence in the Arizona offense. He had 20-35 against the Saints D, which hasn't been stellar this year, and the Vikings secondary is not very good, look at James Jones and Greg Jennings. With Max Hall under center, there is no way there are not 8-9 in the box every time.

RBs:
Best (agree with your earlier point about check downs)
Lynch (volume play)

Toughy on the WRs. I'm not crazy about any of them.
Smith feels the safest. Moore likes him.
I'd lean towards Colston for the second spot. Welker has to show something post-Moss before I'd start him and I've got a feeling that the Sunday nighter is going to be higher scoring then expected.

Flex:
Depends on how you feel. I know Carolina is a mess but J Stew has more upside than Beanie. Beanie is definitely safer though.

Both are nice options. I like New England's matchup more but Tenn's D is so consistent this year I'd go with them.
