Trade Talk

Now that the season has started we're all going to be offered trades if it hasn't already happened. Most of them are going to be total **** one sided offers that will deplete you of one or more of your good players and give you losers in return. I'll start it off.
I was offered DeAngelo Williams for Green-Ellis and Aaron Hernandez.
12 team PPR League
My Backs are Arian Foster, Green-Ellis, Mike Tolbert, Addai, D. Ward and Delone Carter
My TE's are Jimmy Graham (Starter) and Hernendez
My initial thoughts are to pass since I had Williams last year and he did nothing for me but I see that he has high projections although he did **** last week too. Green-Ellis has limited PPR value but gets in the end zone and Hernandez is a beast in a time share. I'm intrigued by the possible upgrade to my #2 back and I have Tolbert to fall back on since he killed it for me in week 1 and should be a part of the O moving forward in San D.
Thoughts???

I don't have a problem at all trading Green-Ellis & Hernandez........but I'm not a fan of DeAngelo Williams at all, I'd try and get someone else from that guy.

I turned him down. I didn't counter since we weren't good trade partners when it came to my needs and I wasn't going to offer the same thing back for Bennie Wells. My team looks good and it's too early in the year to shake things up and take risks.

I would rather have beanie than Williams, I think he has a good chance of being a top 10 fantasy back this year.

OK, here's my team (10 team, keep 5 a year, play 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR)
Rivers
Turner / Greene / BJGE / Lynch / D. Carter
Colston* / Maclin / Boldin / Gibson
Clark / Gronkowski
Here's my dilemma: I'm worried, very worried, about my RBs and WRs. Turner's getting old. Greene was supposed the heir apparent, but he might not be that good. Colston is out, Maclin may take a little while to get going, and Boldin is solid but uninspiring. Gibson and Carter are bench players I'm holding for upside since there's no one on the waiver wire I'd start over other players on my team right now.
As worried as I am about the Patriots' propensity to spread things around, I feel like Gronk and waiver TEs will get me through, so I'm thinking of making a trade with a guy in my league who's a big Colts fan. The first deal that came to mind is Clark/Colston for Holmes/Addai. Is that fair? He's already chosen Holmes over Clark as a keeper, but Colston should have more value than Addai. For me, it gives me a WR I can rely on a bit more, and I can roll with Addai until Carter takes over.
For reference, here's his team:
Brees / Newton
McCoy / Wells / Hightower / Addai / Spiller
White / Fitz / Holmes / Smith (CAR)
Pettigrew
Any other ideas? I could go the other way and use Carter as incentive for me to upgrade at a position, so that he has Addai's eventual replacement in place...

Well you got a #1 option vs. #2 option, so that is always good. If the Chiefs get that offense going, especially Charles, Bowe will put up big numbers again this year. Bowe is definitely higher risk, but Bowe has a really big upside. I like the trade.

So you don't like the trade? Cause I traded Bowe
for Manningham.

My bad, I thought you trade for Bowe. I really think it is an even trade both ways. Manningham is probably the safer option, but Bowe has a higher upside IMO. Manningham will usually get the #2 CB so that is good. I honestly think they are both solid WR #2's.

I'd rather have Manningham than Bowe. Bowe is going to fall waaay down this year.
So, the guy I referenced above contacted me regarding TE help.
My team:
Rivers
Turner / Greene / BJGE / Lynch / D. Carter
Colston* / Maclin / Boldin / Gibson
Clark / Gronkowski
His team:
Brees / Newton
McCoy / Wells / Hightower / Addai / Spiller
White / Fitz / Holmes / Smith (CAR)
Pettigrew
Is Clark for Holmes fair? Seems to make sense both ways -- Clark is still a top 10 TE on any site I look at, and I'm getting his 3rd, arguably 4th, WR.

Seems like it benefits both sides.. id say he would even get the better end if you had to choose.
I have Vernon Davis and Jimmy Graham (been playing at flex) but i want to trade davis for a RB.. who do you think is the best RB i could get?
1. Ben Tate- producing right now and foster is still banged up.. for now
2. McGahee- producing right now since Morenos injured.. for now
3. Daniel Thomas- splits the carries with reggie but seemed to get a good workload this week

What if it were Clark for Smith? Is this a flash in the pan for Steve Smith South?
Re: Davis, be careful about selling low. The only guy on that list that interests me is Tate, and even then it's risky since that's looking like a time share in the making.

Here's the Scenario. I have Foster and I'm ****. Dude wants to trade me Maclin and Tate for V Jax. Think I'll counter with Nicks instead.
Thoughts?

I definitely think you should be able to get that pair for Nicks. Hard to imagine that you'd be moving Nicks for that price two weeks ago, but if your RB position is really **** up, then it might be worth it.
Follow up Q on my trade issues: If I can get him to bite on Clark/Lynch for Smith/Addai, I do that, right? Is there any hope at all for Lynch? He's got a nice schedule coming up -- Arizona, Atlanta, NY Giants, Cleveland, Cincinnati are his next 5 matchups. I wouldn't mind pairing Addai with Carter...

The same guy offered me the same deal two weeks ago and I told him to get bent.
I'd do that deal, Lynch is very hit and miss, Addai is what he is but he is consistant but are both on crap teams and bad offenses. I have Addai and Carter on my bench in the same league I posted my question about.
Follow up on mine. Would you do D. Williams and James Jones out for Reggie Bush and Mechum coming in? PPR I got Williams for nothing last week to use a trade bait but his value is tanking, do I get what I can now? Bush should bounce back and Mechum gives me depth in my bench and is an upgrade over James (2 Catches this year) Jones

I actually think I'm just going to go with Smith for Clark. I don't see him biting on adding Addai for Lynch -- there's too much depth at TE on the wire to expect him to give up a top 20 WR and downgrade at RB.
EDIT - OK, so I can choose between one of these two options: 1) Smith (CAR) for Clark, 2) Holmes/Addai for Clark/LawFirm. Probably leaning toward Option 1, since Smith is a higher upside play to go with my other WRs (Maclin, Colston, Boldin). Am I overestimating the drop off from BJGE to Addai?
As to the trade in the post above -- oof, Bush/Meachem is best you can get? I'm not a Williams fan at all, and I don't want him on any of my teams, but still... Bush is probably a decent play in PPR leagues for the rest of the year, but if Thomas keeps things up, Bush may only see 30% of the snaps. See if you can get a slightly better WR, one who's not so hit or miss.

Thats a tough one, depends on your backs. I like Green Ellis since he's a proven TD scorer who gets goalline looks on a high powered offense but he can get lost in the mix at times. Addai is Addai and thei is the worst team he's ever been on and they're going to be down every game all season long and he's moving into a time share with Carter.

My backs aren't good. Turner is playing well, but it's Greene and Law Firm behind him with Lynch and D. Carter on my bench. I don't think I can justify downgrading my 3rd RB from Law Firm to Addai in order to get Holmes instead of Smith (hell, it's possible Smith end up being the better WR this year, isn't it?).

I think Smith and Holmes could have similar years stats wise. Not worth swapping to have to have Addai. I have him on my bench for emergency situations hoping I won't have to start him all year.

Pulled the trigger on Clark for Smith. Thanks for the help.
