Week 10 Sit or Start?

Post#1 » by eazy-e jianlian » Tue Nov 8, 2011 5:00 pm

Starters:
QB: Romo
RB: LeSean McCoy
RB: Mike Tolbert
RB/WR: Michael Bush
WR: Eric Decker
WR: Julio Jones
TE: Fred Davis
D/ST: Chiefs D/ST
K: Billy Cundiff

Bench:
- Peyton Hillis (out)
- Jahvid Best (out)
- Miles Austin (out)
- Vernon Davis
- Matt Ryan
- Jackie Battle
- Jon Baldwin

---

Which D/ST should I go with for week 10?
Chiefs (vs. Broncos), Rams (@ Browns), Jaguars (@ Colts), Broncos (@ Chiefs)

As odd as it may sound I'm actually leaning towards the Jags or Broncos at this point in time, I just want a second opinion.

Which two W/R's should I start?
Erick Decker, Julio Jones, Laurent Robinson*, Antonio Brown*

*Am picking one of these two off of waivers and dropping Jon Baldwin.

Any RB sleeper recommendations?
If McFadden and Matthews are out / limited this week I can get by with Bush and Tolbert but I'm trying to prepare for the long-term absence of Hillis and Best. I'm willing to drop Jackie Battle who's an okay RB for a guy with more upside...

Don't love any of those DSTs, but I like Denver's the least.

I'd be picking up Robinson, and starting him and Jones.

As for sleeper RB recommendations, we'd need to know how deep the league is. Ben Tate is available in my 10 team league, for instance, but that's a useless suggestion if you're in a 12 team league and benches as deep as yours.

It's a 9 team league but Tate is long gone, I actually had him on my roster for a bit but have pretty much been scrounging the waiverwire non-stop to find viable WR's since Kenny Brit went down and Austin and Jones have been hurt for most of the season.

I'd grab Antonio Brown and start him with Jones.

Need a WR and a Flex (PPR): Plaxico, Mike Williams, Nate Washington, Lance Moore, Pierre Thomas, Ben Tate.

Alright, here are the decisions I have to make this week in my two leagues:

1) Boldin (@SEA) or Blount (v. HOU) [Boldin is getting double digit targets every week, but TB will surely try to run to keep Houston's offense off the field]

2) Gates (v. OAK) or Gronkowski (@NYJ) [I'm strongly leaning Gates, but just wanted to be sure]

3) Rivers (v. Oak) or Newton (v. TEN) [Newton seems like a can't miss, but Oakland is a mess]

4) Tebow (@KC) or Roethlisberger (@CIN) [Worried the Pit-Cin game will be too low scoring for Ben to be a great option this week]

5) 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex from this depth chart:
Turner (v. NO), Murray (v. BUF), Greene (v. NE), Tolbert (v. OAK)
S. Smith (v. TEN), Maclin (v. ARI), Colston (@ATL), Cruz (@SF)

I'm leaning Turner, Murray, Smith and Maclin at RB and WR, but the flex is killing me -- all 4 other guys have pretty darn good matchups. I will say that I've put a waiver claim in on Marshawn Lynch, dropping Cruz, since I don't think I'm going to play him this week and Lynch, in his next 4 games, has St. Louis twice and Philly once.

Multiple opinions are appreciated. Let's try to get as many people as possible answering questions rather than everyone asking them and not helping others out.

I think I go Plax for WR. He could easily give you nothing, but it's an insult to swiss cheese to compare it to NE's secondary, so I'd play the odds. At flex, I'd eliminate Williams right away (Johnathan Joseph all day). Moore is risky, but you beat Atlanta by throwing on them, not running. Carolina's got a terrible, terrible run defense, so I'm expecting a ton of Chris Johnson and not a ton of passing. Tate could get some run against a bad TB run defense, but if the game is close they'll stick with Foster. I might roll the dice on Moore, but no feel great about it.

I'd go Boldin. He's been very solid lately. I just don't trust TB to keep Blount in the game plan if they fall behind, and he's not going to be in there on passing downs.

2) Gates (v. OAK) or Gronkowski (@NYJ) [I'm strongly leaning Gates, but just wanted to be sure]

Both great options, but I'd go with Gates, too. He sure looked good last week, healthy and all.

3) Rivers (v. Oak) or Newton (v. TEN) [Newton seems like a can't miss, but Oakland is a mess]

Newton. He's been consistently awesome all year. Rivers had his first good performance in weeks against my very own Packers, who have issues to address in that secondary.

4) Tebow (@KC) or Roethlisberger (@CIN) [Worried the Pit-Cin game will be too low scoring for Ben to be a great option this week]

Ben faces the tougher D, no doubt, but KC has shown signs of life as well. I'd probably stick with Ben and ride the hot hand.

5) 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex from this depth chart:
Turner (v. NO), Murray (v. BUF), Greene (v. NE), Tolbert (v. OAK)
S. Smith (v. TEN), Maclin (v. ARI), Colston (@ATL), Cruz (@SF)

RB: Turner and Murray (hopefully Jones doesn't return). Sounds like Matthews is back, which will limit Tolbert's touches, and Green frequently underwhelms despite being force fed the ball. Murray has more upside.

WR: Smith and Maclin for me. Colston can be boom or bust with Brees spreading it around. Cruz has been really good this year too, but I trust the first two more.

You really have a lot of good options for the flex. I'm liking Tolbert against Oakland, with Green a close second, as I don't see how he not scores against NE.

Half ppr league, assuming Bradshaw sits, who of the three do I play at flex?

Garcon
Jacobs
Helu

I'm currently ranking them Helu, Jacobs, Garcon, but not 100% sure.

Cheers

1. Tough call, I think both will have good days...I think blount is safer, but Boldin has bigger upside
2. Gates
3. Newton
4. Tebow
5. Turner, Murray, S. Smith, Cruz, Maclin (cruz is dependent on Nicks not playing)

Tolbert. I'm a Steelers' fan, and I'd love to tell you Mendenhall, but he's gotta show it first. Oakland just gave up 300 yards rushing to McGahee and Tebow, so you can expect at least some yardage from each SD back, and I'd be stunned if Tolbert doesn't get at least one TD either on the ground or in the air.

I think I just talked myself into Tolbert over Cruz for my flex position in dilemma 5....

Onlykiwirapsfan -- I'd have them ranked in that order as well. Jacobs is going to find it tough sledding in SF, and Helu should have more catches than Garcon and definitely more yards.

Don't forget to weigh in on other people's questions too, guys. Even if one person has already answered, your opinions are helpful. None of us are experts, so let's appeal to the wisdom of crowds.

I go stafford because I think there will be more TD's that game

Probably go mendenhall simply because Matthews is back, though Tolbert could definitely blow up

If PPR I go CJ and Sproles, if not I go McGahee and CJ

Probably Stafford over Ben, Tolbert over Mendenhall (like I said before, I just can't trust RM right now).

Last one is awfully tough. I'd eliminate Bush first, since it sounds like Thomas may be coming back and it's not like the Redskins defense is their problem. I think I go CJ and Sproles.

I think CJ is a good start this week. He showed signs of life last week and is playing Carolina this week who is awful against the run. As of right now I am starting him over b. wells, julio jones, and hakeem nicks...hopefully he doesnt burn me again......
