Hi Guys

This is the first time I'll be playing NFL fantasy and just had my draft (unfortunately I was not there to do the draft myself).

It is a 12 team league with the following format:
QB/RB(x2)/WR(x2)/TE/WR or RB/K/Defense


QB: Big Ben/Sam Bradford
RB: Adrian Peterson/Reggie Bush/Kevin Smith/David Wilson
WR: Calvin Johnson/Brandon Marshall/Vincent Jackson/Santonio Holmes/ Santana Moss
TE: Jimmy Graham
K: Matt Bryant
Def: Lions

I am kind of iffy with my QB position especially the first week since Ben will be playing the Broncos and their pass rush defense is not to my advantage, if I'm thinking of dropping Sam Bradford and picking up Matt Schaub off waivers and starting him first week. But ofc I'm concern with Matt's possible injuries later if I were to drop Sam.

The other big IF for me is Adrian Peterson, I have got to find a replacement for him but there is no one in waivers that I can pick up that's worth anything. If all I have at RB replacement are my bench, should I start Kevin Smith (he does have an ankle injury recently - though not too bad).

I'm enjoying my WR, TE, and Defense.

Please give me some advice and let me know what you guys think of my lineup so far, especially concerning my QB position....I really feel I should pick up Schaub quickly....

I hope you already picked up Schaub, I have no clue why Sam Bradford was ever on your roster. Schaub and Big Ben are roughly equivalent, I'd keep them both and play matchups. If you don't get Schaub, still drop Bradford... he's not worth owning.

Starting AP week 1 is silly, he may not even play, let alone get carries, and Kevin Smith is the week 1 starter for the Lions.

1. Pick up Schaub.

2. Kevin Smith is an excellent start this week.

3. Who is available on your waiver wire for RB's?

Can you screen shot it or copy and paste it?

Your RB's are more or less god awful and you have 2 droppable WR's.

Well I dropped Bradford for Schaub and I believe that is a good idea.

I also dropped Moss for Steve Johnson when I saw him in the waiver.

I'm waiting on Holmes for now to see what I should do with him..

My RB is my weakest spot, and I don't think i'll do too well with my current 2 that I have starting this week. I'm hoping AP recovers enough to give me something, and that Bush will recover from the Texans pounding he'll get.

I'm starting Smith and Bush.

Only noticeable RB that is in waiver list worth mentioning is Dwyer, and that's with the hype only...

WTF kind of league has Steve Johnson on the waiver wire? You now have an absolutely absurd WR corps, you have to try to move one for an RB even if it isn't great value.

Stevie Johnson and Matt Schaub available in any 10 man league is laughable. Them being available in a 12 team league doesn't make any sense.

Is this a lady's only league(no male chauvinist)?

LAWL tell me about it when I saw Steve Johnson in waiver, I was shocked he was in wavier and wonder if this is normal since this is my first time playing NFL Fantasy...I was praying I got to him first. Someone dropped him first week (maybe by accident? i dunno).

I'm thinking of dropping Holmes for a RB, no one in this league freaking does any trades (league full of my coworkers playing together) especially concerning a decent RB. The only WR I want to part with is Holmes.

I was originally thinking of dropping Holmes to pick up S. Hill or R. Cobb. But it seems right that I should get another RB since my WR position is stacked (pending health).

Should I try to pick up CJ Spiller or A. Morris? Morris I'm iffy with that coach of theirs and Spiller will really fill in for sure for atleast 3 or 4 weeks while Jackson is out.

Or should I go ahead and try to get Hill or Cobb?

Spiller is a monster when he gets a lot of touches, he is an absolute must add in any league of any size.

Pick him up ASAP.

Morris is weird because of Shanahan. Helu might wind up getting 20 touches next week and then Royster winds up the starter for weeks 3 through 7 even though Helu wound up with 130 total yards. Dude is called Satin of fantasy for a reason.

Drop Holmes for Spiller and Holmes for Morris as your second priority. Set the waiver priority in that order.

Santonio Holmes is a fantasy nobody. He's a fringe rosterable player. Don't worry about getting value for him, he's worthless in trade, you'd have to find a clueless Jets homer to get anything for him.

Look at Sunday. They throw the ball all over the place including 3 receiving TD's and Sanchez almost hitting 300 yards and yet he has 4 catches for 68 yards. He did have 8 targets though.

Just too inconsistent and it's hard to even play match ups with him cause the Jets offense will be unpredictable.

Even if Sanchez finally gets it this year and blows up, chances are Holmes is still only a top 20ish WR with around 1100 yards and 7 TD's, which is solid, but not going to be an enormous loss for you with your great stable of WR's.

Again, can you screen cap the available player in your league, or list them?

With the guys you're saying that are on the wire I have a feeling there are some straight studs out there you're not mentioning.

But get Spiller now. With Fred Jackson likely to miss a long time Spiller becomes an every week starter no matter match up. If Jackson is out for the year Spiller may literally be the #1 fantasy RB this year, period.

Ya I'm going to try for Spiller, Cobb, and Hill. But I fear I'm going to not be able to get Spiller, Morris, or Hill...maybe Cobb because I have the last pick in waiver lol. Here's the screen with list of players, i forgot to upload it last time. Keep in mind I'm not even going to bother trying for Ogletree, maybe Alshon Jeffery would be a good pickup?






Also what defense would you recommend is good for this week? I have the lions, and so far it feels like they're average at best....but maybe they'll pick themselves up later. Here's a list, I dont think Lions will do well this upcoming weekend.

I'll tell you what, if you miss out on your top adds cause of your waiver standings, James Jones is a really interesting add. He's a guy with a ton of talent and great size and some speed and there's a good chance Greg Jennings is out Thursday and maybe hampered all year by this groin injury.

Jones has struggled some with consistency, but he's more so the victim of circumstance with some really great receivers in front of him. He's also relatively young, so this could be his breakout year in general. If Jennings is out, he's highly likely get a fair share of the deep routes targets, meaning big plays and TD's.


Another guy I like is Donald Jones. He's a sneaky good add. He'll be limited by Fitzpatrick's erratic suckfest play just like Stevie Johnson, but he's still going to benefit from the extra slot targets that Nelson was getting.



As for the defense, yeah Detroit isn't a great play this week. I don't think they're a horrible play, but they're not a very good one either. Mediocre play for sure.

IDK, Cincy looked shaky, but I'm gonna go with them out of those available ones. On paper that is a dream match up. Cleveland is just a coathanger abortion. They should get a couple picks, a forced fumble, keep the score in the teens to mid 20's at worst, a couple sacks and a good shot at a TD. The funny part is, if the game was in Cleveland I wouldn't be mad at you for using them. The Bengals to me were the easiest pick I made as a regression team this year, with a great chance to miss the playoffs and win only 6 to 8 games.

I don't hate Miami as a solid play either. I might go with them actually. IDK, I guess flip a coin between Miami and Cincinnati lol.
