Week 3 starter advice

Post#1 » by NW7 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 8:35 pm

These questions are all for my weird scoring league (of note: PPR and 15 return yards per point).

Pick my #2 and #3 WR:
Danny Amendola @ Chicago
Antonio Brown @ Oakland
Stevie Johnson @ Cleveland
Demaryius Thomas vs Houston

Really can't decide at all between these four . Leaning Thomas and Amendola, but I feel this is one that I'm going to be going back and forth on all week.

Pick my TE:
Brandon Pettigrew @ Tennessee
Martellus Bennett @ Carolina

I'm leaning Bennett here. In general I think this is a good match up for him, but now that Nicks has been officially ruled out I think this is a no-brainer. Anyone think otherwise?

Bennett for sure. In the first question, which of those guys are returners? Curious because I've never played with return points, so I've never cared for that.

Amendola is the full time punt returner for the Rams, and Antonio Brown does most of the punt returns for the Steelers.

Would you guys start Peterson against the 49ers this week or should I sub in either A. Morris or Andre Brown for him?

Also would you start Vjax, Morris, or Andre Brown at the flex this week?

Antonio Brown @ Oak
Welker @ Ravens
Torrey Smith vs NE
Decker vs Texans

I like Brown and Thomas.

As for TE that's actually pretty tough. The Titans have allowed FIVE tds to TE so far this year and Scheffler is probably going to be out. I'm facing Pettigrew in my main league and I'm pretty worried about it. Both are good options though but I'd probably go Pettigrew.

I like Morris the most. AP just has limited upside because a TD probably isn't coming. I'd go AP over Brown (who we don't know anything about) and Vjax though.

when I tweeted this fantasy guru guy to pick a flex between Celek/Ridley, he choose Celek. I'm beginning to lean that way with Maclin hurt the attention will probably be all over Jackson. Celek last week even w/o a TD produced more than Graham my other TE, we start te/wr/rb @ Flex. What do you guys think?

I couldn't start him over Lynch and Spiller, but man did he do well!

I'm going with Antonio Brown and Thomas for your WR's and I definitely would have said Bennett.

I don't see Amendola going off on the road in Chicago to be quite honest. I think you're looking at a 6 catch 65 yard no TD type of game.

Ha, that was my problem as well in one of my money leagues.

I have Trent Richardson and Lynch so I rolled with them, but I really wanted to sit Lynch for him cause I fear Green Bay exploding early so Lynch doesn't get many attempts.

Wish I did. No matter how he does he's not likely to match Brown.

I had him started in 1 of the 3 leagues I was able to nab him in.

The other league where I sat him I have Foster, Ridley and Michael Bush. I chose Bush over him. Doe!

Hmm...

I don't know if Baltimore is the scary match up it looks like on paper.

I think Ridley can get in there for 90+ total yards and a TD or 2.

Then again, Celek is going to have a lot of opportunity and Vick clearly likes throwing to him, as shown not just last week but in the past. He seemed to go to Maclin more to keep his receivers happy.

Is this PPR?

I'm not sweating that defense just yet. I think they're definitely good, but they aren't shutting down the Eagles.

They'll give up 3 or 4 total TD's and some solid yardage.

I didnt want to start a new thread, so I figured I would just throw it in here:

I have been offered Decker for Rivers (I also have Romo)

My WR's are Colston, Wayne, Jordy Nelson, Garcon, D. Moore, K. Wright...would you take it? I am leaning yes since Rivers is my backup, but if romo gets hurt I would be screwed...thoughts?
