standard yahoo scoring

12 team league....Its a deep league with many starters, so the waiver wire is thin, you can only find guys who are "percent owned" at less than 30%

I think Im gonna mail it in or should I try to save this by trading trent in a 2 for 1 type deal (some1 offered me rg3 for trent)

Never mail it in. You're not in that bad a shape. Rivers and Gronk are a good QB/TE pair. You just need to work on your RBs. Your RB/WR options, in depth chart form (mostly for my own evaluation purposes):

RB - McFadden / Richardson / P. Thomas / Tate / Stephens-Howling
WR - Wallace / D. Jackson / D. Moore / Holmes / Blackmon / Bess / Barden

McFadden will see better days, but I wouldn't be trading Richardson. You don't have anything close to a RB2 on your roster. If you feel you MUST, then you have to trade Rivers for another RB. Aim for a guy whose owner might be panicking (Forte or Bradshaw), or a perpetually underrated RB (Sproles, Law Firm). Another guy you could try to take a major dice roll on is Mendenhall. You may strike out, but start exploring stuff like that. The other thing to do is see what the Nicks owner will give you for Barden. His value is entirely tied to whether or not Nicks plays. Handcuffing a WR is strange, but with benches this deep it's not that crazy.

Waiver wire RBs -- are Hillman, Hunter, Turbin, Richardson, or L. Miller available? I'd be more interested in stashing them over LSR, Bess or Blackmon. They've all got pretty clear paths to playing time with injuries (with the possible exception of Miller).

Two guys started off 1-3 last year and made it to the final four, one even won the league

Don't give up yet

I could end up 1-4 after week 5. Because of me scoring enough points I could still end up as an 8th seed in my 12 team league. Stafford isn't scoring enough td's and Garcon and Jennings are iffy.

I do wanna be a wise-azz and change my name to "toppickin13" or something.

I would trade Mcfadden for 2 more top backs, not top 5 per se, maybe top 10? Like a guy who has alot of quality depth but no featured star back. Mcfadden still has the name to get your great value.

Examples of possibilities?

I'd be careful about selling low on him. Listened to a good breakdown of his issues on the 4-letter network's newest fantasy podcast. When he got to run in a man-blocking scheme, he got to hit holes as hard as he wanted and use his explosiveness. Now that they've gone back to zone-blocking, he's being asked to follow the blockers in a particular direction and looking for the lane, but he's always looking for something better and ends up going out of bounds before making a move. Two weeks of film study and practice could fix that.

There's a reason teams are sniffing around him -- everybody looks at him as a buy low candidate. Make sure you get a return that matches what you'd want for a top 10 back.

These are both more or less wretched especially the first one which drops a hydrogen bomb on your RB's and best player and turns him into meh.

I actually agree with LA and can see trading McFadden as a solid idea with a RB Flex spot and your spotty starters and terrible depth, but I also agree with Maritimer and don't like the idea of selling low.

I don't think you need to sell high, but you need to sell fair and get true value for him.

As Maritimer said, it's hard to make suggestions without knowing other team's rosters, but if I'm selling McFadden I need something like Murray and Ridley, or Ryan Mathews and Murray for McFadden and Moore/Tate or something like that.

Or try to pull off something like McFadden and one of Mike Wallace or DeSean Jackson for Arian Foster and a high upside player who's producing like crap right now.

Quite honestly though, if you can work a solid QB upgrade or WR upgrade into the Murray and Williams for McFadden one that isn't a bad idea.

What WR's and QB's does that guy have?
