Stay away from Aaron Hernandez....
But in all seriousness grab your running backs early and often because quarterback and wide receiver are deeper than ever.

Who is the best new/rookie RB this season?
Lamar Miller (not a rookie, but potential new starter)
David Wilson (also not a rookie, but new guy in NY)
Montee Ball
LeVeon Bell
Eddie Lacy

Any thoughts on Russell Wilson as a starter this year? I'm in a keeper/auction league and last year I picked him up for $5. Salary cap is $160 to spend during the draft. Top flight QBs usually go for $30+. Last year Matt Stafford went for $39. It's a 12 team league and 16 player roster. I'm thinking about keeping him as my starter and just pick up a $2 QB in late rounds as a backup. Hopefully, Harvin is not out for long if he has surgery.
Also, I have Greg Jennings...who of course completely burned me last year, but new year with Ponder/AP could be a good look...specially with Harvin gone. Any thoughts?
Any good sleeper RBs?
Help!

I love Montee Ball. Any rb that has played alongside Manning has had great success (Edgerrin James, Joseph Addai, Willis McGahee, ect). Ball is a strong runner inside the tackles and has relatively little competition. I wouldn't be surprised if he put up 1200 yards and had double digit td's.

Don't forget Gio Bernard. I think he takes the job from BJGE pretty quickly. I think he'll be the best but you might have to wait a few weeks for him to get going. The nice part is that he'll be cheaper than all these guys.
I like Miller too. Solid RB2 IMO. Wilson, eh, the talent is there but I don't think the coaching staff trusts him yet. I'd much rather grab Andre Brown 4 or 5 rounds later. I'm not touching the Denver RB situation. The coaching staff is talking up Hillman and it just screams RBBC to me. It wouldn't shock me to see Moreno still in the mix as well, at least on 3rd downs. Bell I like a lot. Another solid RB2. The other options in Pitt are just real ugly so I think he's a safe pick. I'm just staying away from the GB situation as well. Franklin apparently has looked real good. Might just be better to grab him late.

I like Wilson and I think he's a QB1 this year. At that price he's a no brainer to keep. Just keep in mind that he doesn't throw for a ton of yards, so if there's any 300 yard bonus points that hurts him a bit.
Not a fan of Jennings. I just don't buy Ponder at all. He's not a guy I'd feel comfortable starting week to week.

As a tip in general, if your league is 4 points per td for QBs there is zero reason to take a QB early this year.
It looks like there's 12 quality starting backs and then the 13th guy is Eli who has always been around QB1 value (not including last year). Ben and Dalton could have nice years as well.
I kind of like being in the middle of the draft this year. If I'm there in any leagues I like the stud RB in round 1 and then grab one of Green/Marshall/Dez in the 2nd strategy. Calvin's tough to grab in the first because there seems to be a drop off with RBs in the 2nd.

Unless I have the #1 overall pick, I don't want to be in the top 5. I would much rather sit at the end and snag a couple stud receivers back to back or go qb+wr depending on who is available. I agree with what Bank Shot said though, QB is extremely deep this year so unless you're getting a Brees, Rodgers, or a Manning (Peyton) you're better off just waiting it out rather than reaching.

I say Miller and Bell will do the best, but that's just my opinion. I like them.

I need some feed back on a couple dilemmas I'll be facing when drafting this year, please.
1. In one league, standard scoring, starting 2 rbs and 3 wrs, I have the option to keep Lynch, Spiller, or Megatron as my #1 pick. Everyone must keep 1 player from last years roster as their first pick. In the second round of a 10 team league, I'll be drafting 3rd to last, or 18th overall. Who do I keep? I'm leaning towards Lynch, but Spiller intrigues me with his upside.
2. In a standard 4 player keeper league where we start 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te and a wr/te flex I'm keeping Stafford, Alf Morris, TRich and I need to choose between Andre Johnson and Vernon Davis. I know Andre Johnson is ranked higher than VD, but could there be an advantage to keeping VD and drafting a WR in the 5th round (perhaps a Vjax or Cruz or Nelson?). Or, perhaps I can keep AJ and draft VD in the 5th round? Thoughts? Graham, Gronk and Witten are all being kept by their owners already.
Thanks in advance!

Reevaluating my draft strategy now that I've done a couple mock drafts. It's pertinent to take a running back in the first two rounds, they go off the board real quick. I don't see any Doug Martin's or Alfred Morris' in this years draft. WR is deeper than ever, so you can hold off and get solid talent even in the 4th and 5th rounds. And as for QB unless you get Brees, Rodgers, Peyton, or Kaep then there is no point to taking a QB in the first three rounds. Realistically you can hold off as late as the 6th round and still get a viable QB.

1. Spillar has a lot of upside this upcoming season. He's going to be the Bills featured back, and early reports speculate that he might get 30+ touches a game. Lynch has a lot of mileage on him, and with Rusell Wilson progressing as a QB you've got to figure that they'll start moving the ball through the air alot more. As for Calvin you can't really go wrong with him, but WR is really deep this year. Doesn't make sense to keep him from my perspective.
2. Keep Vernon, he's going to be the most productive TE this upcoming season with Gronk sidelined. He's guaranteed to see more targets with Crabtree out almost the entire season.

Thanks for the comments. The ONLY thing holding me back from picking Spiller over Lynch right now is touchdowns. Lynch should see 10-13 while Spiller will hope to see around 7-8 total TDs. My draft is this weekend so I have a lot of thinking to do.

That is protocol drafting this season, you're right. Stock up on RBs and get value WRs QBs and even TEs later. However, in my league we start 3 WRS and you get 1 point per 15 rec. yards, vs 1 point for 10 rush yards, which makes it more important to grab those top WRs earlier than normal. I'm sticking with Lynch or Spiller as my #1 pick, but if I can grab Dez B, Marshall, or Julio J in the second, I'll do that and snag my RB2 in the 3rd round. Typically though, you're right and you need those stud RBs.

Also are you in a ppr league? If so, Spillar should get the nod without any doubt.

Nope, Standard League. Don't get me wrong, I really like Spiller, but I can't shake the fact that Lynch is just in a better situation to score and get yardage. I feel other teams will focus on Spiller week in and week out, while Lynch has proven that even when he's the focal point, he still produces. This will be Spiller's first year as the titled 'Main Back', so he has more question marks. I think if I flip a coin with those 2 names I'll be happy either way with who I end up keeping lol. One thing for sure, if I do keep Lynch, I will probably have to start looking for a young sleeper stud towards the end of this years draft because Lynch is approaching that 'over the hill' RB status and I may not want him next season. He probably has (counting this season) 2-3 more dominant years in Seattle. Spiller's time is just beginning!
Lots to think about!

He's great! A little worried about his durability, but I guess every player has the same chance to get injured. He's healthy right now and that's a better start than last season! I have him in one of my keeper leagues

Question is, where are you drafting him in the 1st round? Late right?
