So Cam Newton hasn't been great so far and my friend who owns him is panicking because his whole team is struggling and he said he's willing to trade Newton. My QB's are Dalton/Freeman so I could use an upgrade.
I have both Jimmy Graham and Jordan Cameron who he's interested in as well as Calvin Johnson (who I won't involve in the deal) , Antonio Brown, Frank Gore, Darren Sproles, Eddie Lacy and Edelman.
Do you think Newton's production will go up or is he just not an elite QB? And if you think I should offer him a deal who should I include.
Thanks!

Re: Buy Low On Cam Newton?
I don't like Cam at all. In fact I had him last year and traded him in the off season in a keeper league. He's too inconsistent. Dalton should have a good game this week vs GB. I think you should wait at least 1 more week, unless you think Cam will go off vs the Giants, in which case his stock would rise. His production picked up huge towards the second half of last season, but his team just isn't that good, so I'm a little skeptical this season. I'm curious to hear what others have to say about this situation, but I'd probably stay clear of Cam. How many RBs and WRs do you start? If you're starting 2 RBs and Gore and Sproles are your only backs, I'd try to upgrade my RB situation.

I have Cam in my keeper league. The Brady owner is also panicking, and sees Newton as a long term upgrade. I'm trying to what the final form of that deal will be, but I think I'd rather bank on the Patriots figuring their offense out over Carolina finally figuring out how to use Cam. The total refusal of the Panthers' coaching staff to go up-tempo is nothing short of baffling.

Re: Buy Low On Cam Newton?
I drafted Cam in the third round this year and he almost sunk me last week thanks to our -2 pts per sack. I bought low on Cam last year in one of my leagues. His owner just dropped him and I got him off the waiver wire for nothing. He carried me in the second half to a league title. Having AP and Marshawn Lynch didn't hurt either. I wouldn't be surprised if Ron Rivera gets fired during the season for his ineptness to get the most out of Newton's talents. It might be the best thing that could happen to his fantasy value. So I'd say yes, buy low if you can, keep him on your bench and when he turns it on, ride him to the finish.

And look what Cam does after my negative post about him...
