any advice on my team?

Post#1 » by Pharmcat » Sun Aug 19, 2007 11:14 pm

QB- bulger and brees
WR- Javon walker, darel jackson, berrian
RB- maroney, julius jones, and ronnie brown
te- heap
W/R- betts
W/T-Owen daniels

bench: droughns, trent green, anthony thomas, randel El, james jones, michael pitman

wilkins is K and phi is def

10 team H to H

standard yahoo setting, but its 15 yards for one point for rushing and receiving .... and 10 pts for passing, rushing and receiving tds, and 25 yds passing for 1 pt

any recommendations as to what i should do?

*note, i made the 1st two picks, but after that, my internet kicked me off and couldnt make any more picks....although i couldve gotten deuce in the 3rd round had i not been kicked off :banghead: :banghead:

thats a pretty good team for someone barley got to draft, the only thing I would say to add is another Def just incase phi doesn't play good.

1. obviously, you don't need bulger and brees on the same team. someone must need a QB so trade either one for a better RB or WR.
2. i think you're RB is your major weakness and it's bad.. marooney is good but he's injury prone is my book. julius jones is splitting carries and he won't get you many TDs. ronnie brown is good but could be a disappointment if that miami offense (O-line) doesn't improve. betts will be okay cause portis is coming back. anthony thomas is nothing cause lynch is here. droughns splitting carries and he's no.2 RB for the giants.
3. your WR is weak too. darrel jackson might be a bust but he's decent. berrian might be a sleeper pick but he's a bench fantasy player in my book. randel el is useless. james jones is a rookie and he's nothing for fantasy. michael pittman, meh...
4. i like philly D. don't see anything wrong with it.

If you could pull that off your team would be pretty strong.

I'd counter with Bulger and Berrian for Owens and Fitzgerald.

See what he says.

id trade bulger for TO in a heartbeat... see if you can get a little more in exchange but in the end that trade helps your team.. maroney and ronnie brown are not bad but you could use another good RB. A-Train or Betts could be sleepers this year depending on how Marshawn gets played and Portis's health end up

I have to agree, your very weak at RB. I would try to go after a RB like Brandon Jacobs, he is very capable of putting up huge numbers and usually flys under the radar in most leagues.

Brees & Bulger...?

Your teams pretty good, all your missin is Steve Smith or Ocho Cinco then I like your chances.

Might be a sideway deal. Travis Henry hurt his knee a couple days ago. I know they said test results were negative which is a good sign, but has to leave you wondering how he will bounce back from it. On a positive note if he is ok then you can look at it from this angle:
1. Average running backs do fine in Denver, so Henry will do great there if he is healthy.

I think giving up brown and bulger both might be a little much, but I can see Brown having a disappointing season in Miami this year. I would still try to put one of your other RBs in the deal instead of Brown however.

maroney isn't a full time back. he has always split carries with other RBs in this playing career.
