Fantasy Football DOs and DON'Ts

DO:
1. DO draft at least one RB in the first 2 rounds of the draft because RBs are the most consistent and generous position in fantasy football.
2. DO know each player's bye week before you draft the player.
3. DO make sure your internet connection is stable and connect before the draft. (make sure you use the bathroom before the draft as well)
4. DO plan ahead of time. (make a pre-draft ranking is a good idea)
5. DO know each player's injury history, off-field issues or on field issues.

DON'T:
1. DON'T be a homer when playing fantasy football. (say GG when it's bye week)
2. DON'T draft a kicker until the very last few rounds.
3. DON'T draft two kickers unless there are unlimited bench spaces.
4. DON'T draft a defense until the last few rounds.
5. DON'T draft two defenses unless there are plenty of bench spaces.
6. DON'T draft a WR in the first round of the draft.
7. DON'T draft a TE like he's a WR. (no... not even Antonie Gates)
8. DON'T stock on one position because it's pointless and wasteful.
9. DON'T draft players with the same position and the same bye week.
10. DON'T get overly concern about bye week and trade away a great player just because he has the same bye week with another player.
11. DON'T draft a sleeper in the early rounds just because you believe in him.
12. DON'T be afraid to trade.

*add your own and i will add it to the list.

Don't pick more than 2 guys from the same team, unless that team is either Cincinnati, St. Louis or Indianapolis.

^^^ I think it certain cases it is allright. Like having a kicker, defense, or TE on the same team as a RB, WR, or QB.

Don't draft a QB in round 1 unless his name is Peyton Manning.

or Carson Palmer depending on how deep your league is

DON'T play Team defenses. Team Defenses are for wusses and casual fans. IDPs are for the real Football fans.

i don't like IDP because the best fantasy defensive player doesn't mean he's the best defensive player in the league... i mean just look at the rankings for the IDPs.. most top tiers are decent players in the crappy team that needs to do everything.... so it's really hard for beginners to play IDP... it's also inconsistent..

Dan Klecko FTW

Why not draft two defenses? I always get 2 so I can rotate depending on the offense they play. I'd rather have an extra defense as my 14th man than a RB that I will almost never use.

imo, one should go: RB, RB, RB, WR, WR, QB, QB in the first 7 rounds

I don't necessarily agree with that. After RB, RB, it all depends on who's available, even for standard 10-team Yahoo leagues.

I'm with J.Kim on that, although I suggest RB, RB, QB, then best available.

well im talking bout 12 team leagues that i do....you have to go with RBs the first 3 rds, then WR, then pick up QBs like Smith and Schab in rds 6 and 7

something along those lines
