How much is the #1 pick worth?

Alright, I'm in a 5 player keeper league. I'd really like to get Adrian Peterson, but I'm considering if it's really worth it. Right now the guy wants the 10th and 11th pick overall (I hold the last pick, snake order), but I wouldn't do that. I'd ask for the 20th and 1st overall for the 10th and 11th if I did it, but I think it's not worth it at the moment. I mean I could realistically get Ronnie Brown and maybe Peyton Manning as opposed to Adrian Peterson and maybe Carson Palmer/Roethlisburger. Thoughts?

well palmer and big ben aren't bad options to fall back on, but this really depends on if you think AP is going to be healthy and dominate and worth making the move for

peyton will always be good, but ronnie is coming off an injury but he should be back to his old self

in the end it comes down to how much you like peterson

If you can deal 1st + 20th for 10th + 11th pick in a keeper league just starting out you have to take it. Having AP as one of your keepers is great. I would never do that deal if I was holding the #1 pick. Imho the other owner is crazy.

Just imagine:
#1: AP
#20: Braylon Edwards Or Larry Fitzgerald Or Andre Johnson (one of them should be available imo)
#30: Marcus Colston or Brandon Marshall (one of them should be available imo)
#31: Drew Brees (if available), Brandon Jacobs, Lawrence Maroney
#50: Willie Parker (only if you don't have 2 RBs yet), Kellen Winslow,
#51: McFadden or ....

Or something like that depending on how your draft shakes out.. a core like that would give you a chance for this year and a few nice young keepers

after dwelling on the deal some more, i think you should take it, ronnie brown is coming off an injury so there is some uncertainty, probably more so than AP, because he's healthy

Ha. That's similar to how my actual draft ended up. Cliff Levingston got AP, Fitzgerald and McFadden.

If Cliff Levingston is in a keeper league, Cliff Levingston will be set for a few championships :)
