Preseason Addai Trade: Who Wins?

Post#1 » by Shady Franchise » Tue Aug 12, 2008 6:03 pm

addai/jennings for Jmal Lewis/Colston

6pts all TD's
10rush yrd 1pt
15 rec yrd 1pt

I know Addai is the best player in the trade but the colts have a horrible schedule. Lewis's isn't much better though. NO has a great schedule, top 5 I think.

Whoever gets Addai should be high-fiving everybody within a five-mile radius.

I have 3 qb's because i picked Favre with my last round pick and was hoping hed play so I could trade one of them...

what are these qb's worth when trading for a WR?

Cutler
Delhomme
Favre

I'm trading colston/lewis for addai/jennings so my WR squad takes a bit of a hit with depth:

wayne
jennings
berrian
gaffney
hardy

Addai is an unquestionable improvement over Lewis: he's younger, on a better offense, and he's more of a dual threat in the running and passing game. Barring any unforeseen injury or miracle Jamal Lewis resurgence, Addai should gain more total yards and TDs than Lewis.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Colts' schedule; as long as Peyton Manning is behind center, teams aren't going to stack the box to stop the run. They're most likely going to end up playing mostly prevent-style defenses with emphasis on taking away the long ball and forcing short-yardage plays. In that regard, Addai will become incredibly valuable, especially in moving the ball downfield.

As for the QBs: I'd probably trade Cutler out of all of them. He has more value right now than Delhomme, and he could probably net you a second-tier receiver straight-up.

Yeah, it's really not close.

Addai may even improve on last season's campaign now that he has Rhodes again to spell him a little more. Expect better explosiveness in the last few weeks of the season compared to this previous season. Jamal Lewis is likely nearing the end of his rope as a RB. Last season was a resurgence, but I'd be surprised if he puts up those type of numbers again.
