Wait, am I reading this right? He’s ready to offer you a running back PLUS a receiver for Roddy White? Uh, yes plz?

Do the Williams/Jackson deal. I have my hesitations over Turner’s ability to withstand a full season or, more importantly, hold off Norwood from taking over the majority of the carries once the team realizes he’s the better and more complete back out the backfield. Plus Kevin Curtis is out for a large chunk of time with some kind of injury (ab?).

Vincent Jackson’s meh but you have Moss and Smith ahead of him. As the downfield threat for the Chargers, he may see a Bernard Berrian-type breakout this season…or he could get lost in the shuffle. He’s a risky prop but you definitely have the premier talent to back it up. Most importantly, you get Williams, who will give you stability and depth at RB and will provide second-tier RB insurance to cover the eventuality of Larry Johnson’s legs falling off by Week 3. I wouldn’t worry too much about Stewart, either: a lot of teams are starting to switch towards a tandem-back system which allows them to take advantage of each back’s strengths and as a hedge against overuse. Williams is a very good receiver out of the backfield and should see enough touches in the Panthers’ offense. He’s a great bench RB to have.

Of course you have to drop someone to make this work. I’d suggest Bryant Johnson, as Walker is bound to maintain his top receiver status in Oakland when/if he gets healthy.

I wouldn't take either trade if your league is 3 WRs/2RBs as it appears. If it's 2 of each and a flex, both are probably good trades - I'd take the DeAngelo one without looking at any numbers.

You wouldn’t trade one overrated receiver on a bad team for one good RB and an OK receiver on a good team regardless?

Turner is going to be a beast.
A Beast.

Williams will be splitting time in more of a 50/50 role.
Turner might split carries but at worst you are looking at a 70/30 split with a team that will run the ball literally 600 times this season.

Curtis and Jackson are basically a wash.
Curtis is out half the season, Jackson is a feast or famine candidate.

And Basketball Jesus, check your facts, Bryant Johnson is the WR1 on the Niners, not the #2 on Oakland.
Besides Walker is finished.
He used to be one of my favorites, but since the latest injury/surgery he is toas, and doesn't even seem to care.
The only reason he didn't retire in the offseason is because he wants 1 or 2 more years of that fat paycheck.

Dude has 228 career attempts to his name running on the coattails of one of the greatest RBs in modern history. And you're ready to proclaim him a beast already? Be my guest.

They won't be running that much when they're behind by 14 in the second quarter of nearly every game.

Jackson will earn points early on. Curtis will not. It is not a wash.

He's top receiver on a crappy team; the only guy with a modicum of talent to catch the ball from Russell. He'll have horrible catch rates but he's going to see a ton of passes his way every game.

I don't think Roddy is overrated. He got his numbers last year despite a completely dysfunctional offense, I don't see why it won't happen again.

anderson seems like a quality choice. but ronnie brown at this point aint even starting. that would be ganja man himself, ricky williams. so even if ronnie brown gets touches, he just might split time with rick.

the defense is solid with san diego, but theres an issue out there with merriman and his torn ligaments. and he is KEY for that defense.

the tight end has lots of upside, but who is QB in that town.

receivers are quality enough. although i would expect alot more double coverage on moss this year. i doubt he goes back to back years with stratosphere like stats. this league picks those things up and corrects them quickly the next year. but if hes there, you gotta get him. the other receivers are good enough to hold the fort.

My fault, I see now.
I overlooked the fact he had Walker and Bryant and misinterpreted what you were saying.
I still think I drop Walker, that's a tough one though.
Russel might be better than expected, but I don't know that the offensive system fits him, and I am jut not sold on Walker coming out of his funk, now or ever.
Bryant isn't any kind of given thing either, but he did very well any time he started in place of Boldin or Fitz.

I was inferring that Jackson and Curtis were a wash because he wouldn't really need either right now for more then a fill in, so essentially he could drop Curtis for the best guy on the wire worse came to worse, but yes I would say you are definitely right, Jackson is much more valuable and in essence it is not a wash.

And yes, I am ready to proclaim Turner a beast.
Although yes, there will be games he doesn't get as many carries for that reason, that is a given on any team that isn't constantly blowing the other team out, and even on those teams, if they have a strong backup, he often gets a majority of the clock killing carries to preserve the legs and health of their star lead back, so it's really a catch 22.
