Sleepers/ Late Round Picks

I am in a 12 person league this year so finding the right sleeper pick and good late round picks are going to be crucial. This is only my second year of fantasy so I'm not the best at knowing 2nd tier/lesser known players....who do you guys think will be sleepers/good late rounders? Also, what are your favorite sites to get player rankings and tips?

Not really lesser known, but DeSean Jackson, and Eddie Royal are going during the later rounds.

Donnie Avery- going to be the number one wr for the rams, and they don't have much outside of SJax

I wish that site ranked all the players together. ESPN finally released its PPR rankings. I used it last year and it was very useful. It had Roddy White ranked late 20's last year even before his break out season.
http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/footb ... 2K9_ppr200As far as sleepers go I like these guys:
Ray Rice - I think he will get the starting job in Baltimore, and he is a good pass catcher out of the backfield. He could be this years Slaton.
Bowe/Cassel - With Todd Haley coming over from KC I think that KC is going to throw it around a lot this year. Bowe still caught a ton of passes with crappy QB situation and Herm Edwards as the coach.

They do. They also update their rankings on a weekly and sometimes daily basis.
Top 100 PPR rankings from 7/30
http://www.kffl.com/article.php/98074/499They also have an option to where you can plug in your league settings and based upon their projected stats for each player will give you updated rankings.

ESPN has TO as a top 20 player in PPR? He's more valuable in non-ppr because he doesn't catch a ton of balls but rather the TD's provide his value. I think I'll let someone else take him in round 2. 48 seems more right to me.

Two possible LATE picks -- Jerome Harrison (Jamal Lewis can't run forever and Davis is still 3rd in the depth chart) and Chaz Schilens (Raiders wide receiver core is awful, but someone has to catch some passes). On that note Zach Miller is someone I'm looking at late-ish (among a few other TEs)... If Witten makes sense I'll take him high, but Gates and Gonzo don't turn my crank like they seem to for everyone else... rather take someone else in the 4th/5th round and nab someone like Miller a few rounds later.

Not sure where he's being taken but John Carlson is going to be no worse than the 5th best fantasy TE this year. Mark my words.
If you're looking real deep, Chaz Schilens is a decent option--he's going to start and they're going to be in some shootouts with their iffy defense. I would consider Chad Henne with my last pick too if I needed a 3rd QB. I don't trust Pennington staying healthy. Austin Collie is a good one too, he'll be the Colts #3 WR.

I have two public leagues just to get a feel for player positioning. John Carlson in one of my leagues was selected in the 9th round and I selected him in the 12th round in my other league. There are 15 rounds.
I feel was able to get some good value compared to the guy that picked him in the 9th round. I was able to select the following players 8th-12th....8th Eddie Royal, 9th DeSean Jackson, 10th Darren McFadden, 11th Jets defense and 12th was the John Carlson selection.
On another note in the same league I selected Joseph Addai during the 6th round. I believe he has been going between the 4th and 6th round.

In the public league I mentioned above I was able to select him in the 3rd round. I was unable to pass him up.
In my other public league someone selected him during the 4th round.

Patrick Crayton will have a career year this year.
He's barely being drafted, if at all, you can get him literally the last 2 rounds of your draft.
I am looking for 70+ catches, around a 1000+ yards even and 8 to 9 TD's, if healthy.
Can't argue that type of value that late, that's serious.
The key is him remaining healthy.
True definition of a sleeper though.
**If he has a beastly 1st 5 or 6 games and he is an awesome sell high trade candidate as well.**

RBs:
- James Davis, CLE. It's looking more and more like he might be the starter early in the season, so he could end up a solid #2 RB if all goes well.
- Rashad Jennings, JAX. Take him really late if there's no one else you like out there, but he's MJD's backup and MJD has never carried a full load before.
WRs:
- Chris Henry. Third WR in Cincinnati and is a big play guy who's supposedly made nice strides this offseason; he seems to be one of Palmer's favorite targets.
- Percy Harvin. He'll be used all over the field and in the return game, so in addition to some rushing yards, you might get a return TD or two.
QBs:
- Matt Hassellback. People forgot about him due to his injury, and while his coaching staff favors the run, he's a damn good QB who's not done yet.
- Jason Campbell. If the running game holds up enough to keep the offense balanced, Cliff Levingston expects him to up his production considerably.
TEs (there's lots, but Cliff Levingston will go deep):
- Tony Sheffler. He put up nice numbers with Cutler and will with Orton as well as Orton can't throw deep and likes those short to intermediate routes over the middle.
- Jeremy Shockey. Should be totally healthy and acclimated to the offense; Brees has been finding him quite a bit in the preseason and you know the Saints' offense is going to put up yards and points.
DEF:
- Jets. One of the top defenses from last year, they closed the year great and just added Bart Scott and Rex Ryan.
- Chargers. Were the top defense on some peoples' boards going into last year before they lost Merriman for the season. He's back now along with English to help the pass rush so they could reclaim quite a bit of their fantasy relevance.

I am a huge fan of Donald Brown's. Addai sucked last year, he ended the year prior kind of on the funk. So look for brown to get a lot of looks
