Why do you have 2 kickers?

I didn't finish the whole draft, yahoo did that for me. Drop for another bench player? Waivers are pretty thin.

20 team league? very nice 12 is the most I've ever done in football.
I'm assuming you got Forte at 9 and Roddy at 31 which is good value on both your first two picks. I wouldn't be too thrilled with Trent Edwards at QB but with TO in town perhaps the passing game could improve a bit but I'd see if I could find another QB for sure. It also appears you got Witten at 49 or so and parker in the sixties which is decent for your first four picks.

edwards obviously isn't an ideal #1 qb, but in a 20 team league everyone isn't going to get a blue chipper, if stafford doesn't get the starting gig from the get go, might want to drop that 2nd kicker for another qb

the two atlanta wr's is also a concern don't want to put too many eggs in one basket, atlanta's passing game isn't exactly like the saints

Man, I can't even imagine what it would be like to be in a 20 person team, but looks decent. We have some similar players. Check out my team in a 10 person league, TD league starting 2 rb, 3 wr. Live draft with friends.

Schaub 6
Forte pick 1
Kevin Smith 4
Andre Johnson 2
R White 3
D Bowe 5
Shockey 11
Bironas 13
NYJ 12

Bench:
Hester 10
D. Ward 7
J. Stewart 8
Shonn Greene 15

you have great wr's, i mean really great group- i like schuab but he has his questions (and i don't like cassel) rb's are ok- not too high on kevin smith, others are good (like greene - go hawkeyes!) shockey should be good, people are really high on the jets this year (probably with good reason) but i'm not a fan of taking defenses and kickers before the last two rounds, miss out on some good position players

Yeah, a kicker in the 3rd to last round seems like reaching. I don't even plan on drafting a kicker, and just grabbing the best one off waivers once the season starts.

Thanks! Ya, my RB's took a small hit because I chose to build the WR's first. I don't know much about K smith but I was stoked to get him at the end of round 4. Him and Cal Johnson seem like the only bright spots on that Det. team worth drafting. The Schaub/Cassel combo I chose because Cassel has very good matchups when Schaub is on Bye or has tough matchups, plus I like to pair QB's with their main WR. Schaub has his problems, but if healthy can be a top 5 fantasy producing QB. I jumped on the DST and K early, too early admititly, because everyone else started to claim their DST and K even earlier, and I didn't want to be left with scraps. Thanks for the insight. Hopefully Greene turns out to be the steal of the draft for me as he was my last pick!!! Thanks again!

i can see taking a defense earlier, especially if there was a huge run on them. but kickers are a crap shoot- no reason to ever take one earlier than the last round- only way to tell if they are going to be good is if their offense is potent and that isn't always foolproof (ie- injuries)

another note about pairing qb's and wr's from the same team. it has it's benefits with the yards and td's counting twice- but also has a downside if the team's passing game has a bad day. with houston probably won't be the norm, but wouldn't rule it out in KC. not to deter anyone from that path but it's something to keep in mind

A 20 team league? Cliff Levingston was in a 14 team league last year and hated it cause you couldn't find any talent. A 20 team league sounds like it'd be about as fun as a really low paying job.

OP - i like you team, 20 team leagues are so hard to get depth at multiple positions. IMO you have the best TE, and possible the best WR this year (Roddy is excellent) plus Forte with good back ups - excellent work!

I am also in a 20 league team ( took over for a terrible deadbeat owner) no draft yet, but these are my 8 keepers and 1 rookie from our rookie draft last week.... had to make trades to get this far, damn its gonna be tough to be near the top. Plus its a IDP league as well . . .

1. Clinton Portis
2. Le'Ron McClain
3. Ray Rice
4. Jason Campbell
5. Anthony Gonzalez
6. Jared Mayo
7. James Harrison
8. Matt Hassleback

Rookie - Hakeem Nicks ( 15th pick as I traded my #6 pick for Rice)

In this format I had to keep both QB's as there is no chance of getting even a backup in the draft. best unowned Qb's are Shaun Hill, Culpepper etc . . . .

Cliff Levingston just drafted his team last night in our 12 team keeper league. Keep two. Cliff Levingston's keepers: Adrian Peterson and Larry Fitzgerald. Not a bad starting hand. Here's how the draft went:

1. (8) RB Adrian Peterson
2. (17) WR Larry Fitzgerald
3. (32) WR Roddy White
4. (41) RB Darren McFadden
5. (56) RB Knowshon Moreno
6. (65) QB Matt Schaub
7. (80) TE Greg Olsen
8. (89) WR Donnie Avery
9. (104) WR Torry Holt
10. (113) RB Rashard Mendenhall
11. (128) NYJ Defense
12. (137) QB Trent Edwards
13. (152) WR Steve Smith (NYG)
14. (161) TE Brent Celek
15. (176) Atlanta Defense
16. (185) K John Carney

Which makes Cliff Levingston's lineup:

QB: Schaub
RB1: Peterson
RB2: McFadden
WR1: Fitzgerald
WR2: White
RB/WR Flex: Moreno/Avery
TE: Olsen
K: Carney
DEF: NYJ
BN: QB Edwards
BN: RB Moreno/WR Avery
BN: RB Mendenhall
BN: WR Holt
BN: WR Smith
BN: TE Celek
BN: DEF Atlanta

Thoughts?

well like i've said before, i'm not as high as mcfadden as most but i do like moreno so you do have some good backups for AP. I like Schuab, avery, and Olsen a lot this year. it will be interesting to see how edwards does in buffalo this year with TO. why the two defenses? i really only thik one is necessary.

anyway looks like you have a pretty good team. really nice wr's

To Cliff

Well being able to keep the best RB and WR is nice, but I honestly think your team has too much risk outside of those 2. Schaub is sketchy and gets injured, Moreno might not even get 5-10 carries a game knowing Denver, and McFadden is a "boom or bust." You will be guarnateed to be in the mix, however, with White, AP, and Fitz

McFadden looked OK in limited action tonight, but my god did Oakland look hideous as a whole.

Well aware of that. Cliff Levingston has the best WRs easily and basically went with the high upside guys wherever he could get them. McFadden is far and away the most talented back in Oakland, so if he stays healthy, he'll still the majority of the touches especially in the passing game. As for Moreno, the Broncos wouldn't have taken him 12th overall to only give him 5-10 carries a game. He looked great before he sprained his MCL, so while it may take him to a little while to get back to 100%, he should at least be solid. Then Avery and Holt are behind him as flex options.

Here's the team Cliff Levingston drafted in his 8-team league (with the 1st pick):

1. RB Peterson
2. WR Calvin Johnson
3. WR Andre Johnson
4. RB Westbrook
5. QB P. Manning
6. RB Ray Rice
7. TE Witten
8. RB Lynch
9. WR A. Bryant
10. RB D. Brown
11. DEF Giants
12. QB McNabb
13. WR Marshall
14. RB Greene
15. TE Winslow
16. DEF Jets
17. RB James Davis
18. K Kris Brown

We play 1 QB, 2RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR flex, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 DEF. So, Cliff Levingston's starting lineup is:

QB: Manning
RB1: Peterson
RB2: Westbrook
WR1: Johnson
WR2: Johnson
Flex: Rice
TE: Witten
K: Brown
DEF: Giants

Im not so high on Rice, but that team looks stacked IF westbrook can hold up to be the player of old instead of a 2 surgery dinosaur. Must have been nice for Andre and Calvin to be there on your second and third pick. Nice draft
