PPR League

Post#1 » by Bleeding Blue » Mon Aug 17, 2009 6:31 pm

I am in my first PPR league this year and my draft is on Sunday. What are your thoughts on running backs? I know AP is the guy who many say is by far the #1 pick, but do you think MJD would be a better #1 in a PPR? This league also has a linebacker/d-line player and a defensive back on the roster (I have never done this either) Any tips/thoughts?

Go with Adrian Peterson.
I'm still a bit iffy on Maurice Jones Drew. I mean, he's 5'6" and has yet to have a full workload.

So you don't think his numbers last year were a fluke? I am worried about taking him so high, especially since they have Cutler now and may pass the ball more

Do you guys have any thoughts on drafting defensive players? I have never been in a league that does that...

Usually the best defensive players are the LB, if its a point a tackle, they also get a few fumbles forced and picks. LB's who sack, like Ware. But a top safety is fine, like Ed Reed, who may not be as consistent but you know he'll get turnovers and take one or two to the house.

#1 overall should be Peterson, but this whole first round has question marks this year, kinda screwy.

You should check how defensive scoring is done. You should be able to get a general idea and strategy of how to draft.

Mostly though try and think of good linebackers on bad/mediocre teams. Like Demeco Ryans, Patrick Willis, D'Qwell Jackson, Kirk Morrison. Those kind of guys lead the scoring just on the tackles alone. If they get interceptions/fumbles and sacks, that's even better.
Oh, also the designated Rushing LB on 3-4 teams - Guys like Demarcus Ware or James Harrison.

I am having the same debating about Adrian Peterson or MJD in a ppr league. Right now I am leaning towards MJD but I think by Draft Night (Saturday) I will be taking AP

I was gonna go with MJD as my #1 pick, but I got the 8th pick :(
