What do you think? Need more?

Post#1 » by Daddy Finese » Wed Sep 2, 2009 9:33 am

So i drafted in the 6th slot out of 10. pretty much exactly where i didnt want but heres what i ended with.

qb-Donovan McNabb (4)
Wr-Roddy White (3)
Wr-Lee Evans (6)
Wr-Eddie Royal(7)
Rb-Stephen Jackson(1)
Rb-Steve Slaton(2)
Te-Tony Gonzalez (5)
K-Rian Lindell (15)

Bench:Matt Schaub (8)
Derrick Ward (9)
Steve Breaston(10
Devery Henderson (12)
Vernon Davis (14)
Cedric Benson (waivers)

My recievers make me a little nervous. I think Evans will have a solid year but buffulo's inconsistency makes me worry. Same with Eddie Royal. Do i need to make a deal for a WR? let me know what you think.

Well at least you're set at Qb and Rb. The Wr corp is not consistent, you're right. I'm not sure if you got much to offer for a bigger name. Try shopping one of the Qb's but i doubt someone will bite in a 10 team league.

I think tony gonzalez interest some people with receivers but its hard to get a top 10 wr for a fith round pick. Plus i take a huge hit at TE by going from Tony to Vernon Davis.

Should i try to shop either slaton or jackson and hope that ward gets enough touches to be an effective RB2?

No way you touch the Rb's unless the deal involves another top Rb.

Depending on how your league scores, you waited too long to address the WR, ICLO. Cliff Levingston believes in stacking the WR early because there's very little chance that those top guys don't produce in a pretty big way. After those top guys are gone (White, Wayne, Colston, etc), you start to get into the WRs with a lot of question marks. Nonetheless, you should be decent there with White, Royal and Evans, but Cliff Levingston hates your depth. Breaston is 3rd in Arizona so his ceiling is limited unless Fitz or Boldin get hurt, while Henderson is little more than a deep threat that Brees may only find for a long ball once in every couple games. If Steve Smith of the Giants is still available, dump Henderson for him.

The rest of the team is solid though. No defense in that league?

+1
I hate the Giants, but I have to admit, this kid looks really good.
Then again, he looked good with Carr in there, not Eli(I truly feel Carr is the better QB, but NY will never admit it, especially after handing Eli that horrendous contract).
I have a feeling he got drafted though, he seems to be going around 10th round in most 12 team drafts that I have participated in, so figure by the 12th or 13th in a 10 team.

As for the OP's team, I definitely like it, just don't love it. I hate Lee Evans, not because of him, but because Trent Edwards is hot trash sun bathing on the Mexican coast.

def is Jets, forgot to post it.

i agree with you there cliff about stacking wr early. But i was kind of handcuffed with my draft spot. Couldnt get a peterson, jone-drew,turner, or forte but too early to draft fitz imho. Had to take stephen jackon at 6 (i believe hes gonna go nuts this year). THen it came back around for my second pick with Fitz,Calvin, and moss all gone then the i had to see Andre get drafted one spot before me!

Maybe you guys disagree, but i thought 15 would have been over drafting on a second tier (roddy,Colston, gennings, wayne) so i went with a solid rb core and i figured i would atleast get 1 of them in round 3.

so im trying to make a trade for moss but im afraid that this idea would be giving away too much. havent sent this but this is the basic framework.

Send: -Steve Slaton
-devery henderson

Receive: Randy moss
reggie bush

lineup could potentially be

qb-Donovan McNabb
Wr-Roddy White
Wr-Randy Moss
Wr-Eddie Royal
Rb-Stephen Jackson
Rb-Bush/benson/ward
Te-Tony Gonzalez
K-Rian Lindell

Bench:Matt Schaub (8)
Derrick Ward (9)
Steve Breaston(10
Lee Evans
Vernon Davis (14)
Cedric Benson (waivers)

Does this trade make me better? i really like slaton but something tells me a big reciever could put me over the top. Reggie isn't very high on my list but .5 ppr scoring, who knows.

Thoughts?

moss should be great this year with brady back, and bush's more valuable in a PPR league

devery won't be used much, just a throw in- slaton is good but you have some ok rb depth

i think you should do it

Agreed, hence the reason I think the other team will turn his offer down.
