Anthony Gonzalez

Post#1 » by Shady Franchise » Wed Oct 7, 2009 3:39 pm

Anyone know how long he is supposed to be out for Ind? Someone just dropped him and I am about to pick him up off waivers and stash him. He's not out the whole season is he??? I am hoping he will help towards the end of the season.
Thanks.

I'd like to hear some thoughts on this as well. I've held on to him, but I'm worried that Garcon has shown himself worthy of looks and that Gonzalez won't be the factor we all predicted.

No, I'm in a league with my ex high school buddies. Just so happens you dropped him too. Why's everyone dropping him???? No room to stash him? I just can't believe a talented wr on a great offensive team is being dropped when wr's are hard to come by. Hmmm. Is he worth the add if I already have AJ, R white, Bowe, and hester??? I'd have to drop D ward, Shockey (I have celek too), or Buckhalter. what do you guys think?

Drop Buckhalter

I picked him up as well, and I think now is a good time to do it if you can stash him somewhere. Garcon and Collie show that ANY WR can benefit from Manning's amazing QB skills, and I doubt they've bumped Gonzalez from his job when he returns. He should be back anywhere from Week 6-8 and should put up great numbers as the WR2 in Indy. People get too Waiver-happy sometimes and want to try and find the sleepers rather than sit on their injured guys. Pick up Gonzalez.

When Gonzo comes back I could see the Colts use him in the slot role/ WR#3. Garcon is showing he is a legit wide out and I could see the Colts keeping him there. Either way he will catch some balls, but I dont know if he is worth stashing if u can get someone that can help u now.

I agree...Garcon will remain the other outside threat, but Gonzo will get a lot of work in slot role. I held Gonzo as my league is very deep, so deep in fact that I had drafted Garcon anyway, and then he has filled in nicely for him. Look for Collie to be the one to see his PT/ targets go way down IMO....

The latest:

Colts president Bill Polian revealed that Anthony Gonzalez (knee) is not healthy enough to practice during the team's Week 6 bye.
Polian also said CB Kelvin Hayden (hamstring) is "probably closest" to returning among all the Colts' injured players. He was noncommittal when asked if Gonzalez could immediately resume an every-down receiver role in Week 7. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Polian said. "In my experience, there will be some roadblocks before we get to that bridge." Oct. 13 - 3:28 pm et

I grabbed Gonzalez off of waivers last week and I'm really hoping he can come back strong. Am I correct in thinking he's a No. 2 WR when healthy?

With Collie looking amazing the past couple weeks I don't think they're going to rush him back.
