Trade Advice/Opinion

I'm in an 8-team PPR league. I need QB and RB help, and would like some suggestions.
Here's my current team:
QB: McNabb, Orton
RB: S Slaton, M Barber, P Thomas, B Westbrook, & Jamaal Charles
WR: W Welker, M Colston, V Jackson, S Rice, H Nicks
TE: T Gonzalez
Def: Cardinals (I base defense on matchups. I started with the Ravens, but they've been aweful for me).
I already tried this trade and got shot down, but I would like your opinion if I offered too little. I think I offered enough, and maybe offered too much.
Here it is, I tried to trade for Aaron Rogers. The guy who has him, has Rogers and P Manning at QB. He has M Austin, Megatron, Derrick Mason, and Devery Henderson at WR, and at RB, he has MJD, F Jackson BUF, A Bradshaw, R Bush, Shonn Greene, and Sammy Morris.
I figured the guy needed help at WR, but wasn't sure about the RB position, so I offered him M Colston, and his choice of a second player between H Nicks, N Burleson (I dropped him for Jamaal Charles after the trade was shot down), M Barber, & P Thomas. I also offered one of my QBs if he needed a backup. Thoughts??
I'm 5-2 in the league, and he's 2-5 in the league. I figured I offered enough, and that Colston was a good starting point to get Rogers, especially since he has P Manning. His response to me was that he will only trade a "stud for a stud". I was a little pissed with his response, but figured no big deal. I'd rather keep Colston, and the second player than deal with this do**he-bag (I was actually going to write him a "scathing" e-mail telling him how much of an idiot he was for not doing that trade, since he's wasting points by keeping rogers and manning on his team. I was also going to point out that M Austin is going to come back down to earth, maybe not this week against SEA, but starting the week after. Oh well, I sat on the idea, cooled off, and decided not to send it.).
Now to my 2nd question:
Since I got shot down w/ the Rogers trade, my next focus is on a quality RB, since Slaton is the only one doing well for me. Another team that is 2-5 has RBs C Benson, R Williams, J Addai, F Gore, and M Lynch. His WR are S Holmes, R Wayne, and R White.
I was thinking of offering him M Colston for C Benson. Is that a fair offer, or should I go after someone else? I'm I giving up too much for Benson? Also, should I use Colston as trade bait, or use V Jackson, or S Rice as bait? I've been using Colston, because I think he and Jackson are similar w/ points, but Jackson has an easier schedule down the road. Plus, San Diego will be playing for a playoff berth the whole season, while the Saints, may look to "slow" things down the last 2 weeks of the season. As for Rice, I don't think too many people in my league know how well he's doing. He's been a free agent the first 6 weeks of the season, so i don't think he has too much value.
I also think W Welker is an untouchable for me, since a PPR league. I won't trade him for Rogers. Slaton is kind of an untouchable, unless I use him in a package for a better RB.
