Mendenhall's Trade Value

Post#1 » by Bank Shot » Sat Nov 7, 2009 12:06 am

With Megatron a big question mark every week I'm struggling at WR. Standard league so I'm starting 3 every week. I'm currently rolling with V Jax, Rice, Holmes, and Floyd. At RB I have Gore and Thomas and looking at their schedules I don't see myself sitting either the rest of the season so Mendenhall is wasting away on my bench right now. I was wondering what level of WR people think he can fetch, especially when packaged with any of my WRs not named Vincent or Calvin.

The guy in my league who has Colston is currently going with Beenie as his RB2 so he's struggling there (MJD is saving him). He's also in first so I'm not sure he'll be interested. The guy with Hines Ward is weak at RB too and the guy with Roddy White has Mike Bell as his RB2.

So who should I be targeting with a Mendenhall or Mendenhall/Holmes or Rice (preferably Holmes) package? Don't limit yourself to the guys I mentioned.

Thanks

Mendenhall is close to a must start back at this point depending on who else you have, but you have better options.
His schedule is pretty brutal though, so if people are really concerned about that I don't know?
He was actually just traded in one of my leagues straight up for Sidney Rice if that gives you any idea as to his value. It's a PPR league and RBs are rewarded a quarter point per rushing attempt as well.
I just traded Megatron for Thomas Jones in one of my leagues, but it was offered to me.
I think Johnson will be back to form as long as he is healthy though, so the trade isn't as lopsided as it seems, also a reason you may want to hold on to Mendenhall for insurance.
Colston would be an awesome return for you, but I don't know if that dude would go for it.
Try for OchoCinco or Roddy White, maybe Greg Jennings, he should bounce back a little something.

I'm in a TD scoring league and need a RB2 bad. I have forte and kevin smith starting, but want a more consistant back. I tried a trade of k smith/celek/bowe or hester for benson/collie/watson but they wouldnt take it. That same person also has mendenhall and I'm about to offer celek for mendenhall straight up. The person had owen daniels and is in dire need of a TE. I have shockey too so I won't hurt with the loss of Celek. The person has MJD and Benson plus moats, mcfadden, mccoy so they are very deep at RB. Hopefully the person bites! But ya, I think a TOP 5 TE or a WR2 is where the trade value is for him right now. On a side note I tried to trade someone else for ray rice, but they want my andre johnson and I said HELL NO because I like pairing him with Schaub! Good luck!
Do not max Vuc!

Thanks for the advice guys.

I actually combined your ideas and threw together a pretty big trade. Keep in mind that I wasn't planning on starting Mendenhall the rest of the year.

I give:
Mendenhall
Calvin
Shiancoe

I get:
Roddy White
Vernon Davis

I think I gave up slightly more then I got but I'm fine with that as it balances my lineup nicely. In terms of my starters I got Roddy and Vernon for Calvin and Shiancoe which is a solid upgrade at both positions. Hurts my depth but at this point in the season I'm not too worried about it.
12 team basic league and I'm now rolling with this:

Schaub
V Jax
Roddy
Rice/Holmes
Gore
P. Thomas
Vernon
Indy K
GB D

Pretty damn solid IMO. What do you guys think?
