Week 11 Start/Sit

Post#1 » by ChronicKerr » Wed Nov 18, 2009 7:19 pm

I have a tough decision to make for my flex spot this week in a 1 Point Per Reception League. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Austin Collie @ Baltimore
Laurence Maroney vs NYJ
Justin Forsett @ Minn

Thanks.

I would start Maroney because of the matchup against the jets. I can see the pats getting up early and often and then using the run game to run down the clock the rest of the game.

Pick 1 RB:
Matt Forte vs PHI
Mendenhall @ KC

Pick 1 WR:
Greg Jennings vs SF
Mike Sims-Walker vs Buffalo

Pick 1 TE:
Greg Olsen vs PHI
Vernon Davis @ GB

That's a REALLY tough one, it's pretty much a coin flip / gut decision. Whenever I'm faced with this situation, I always go with the theory that you start your studs. Forte is simply more talented than Snelling so I'd go with him.

I have a few tough decisions this week:

Start 1 RB:
Laurence Maroney vs. NYJ
Slaton vs. TEN
Jamal Lewis @ DET (if healthy)

Start 2 WR:
Manningham vs. ATL
Braylon Edwards @ NE
Laveranues Coles @ OAK
Chris Chambers vs. PIT

For the WR's, I'm leaning Manningham and Coles due to matchups. For the RB's, I have no idea - especially with the uncertainly surrounding Slaton and with him coming off of a bye week. HELP!

Really? Maroney was personally my 3rd choice out of the three. Faulk got the majority of the carries and played well last week and Maroney fumbled on the goal line which would have put the game out of reach. If I had to guess, I would think Maroney's workload would get cut back this week partly due to the fumble and Faulk well as Morris not even been ruled out yet. Thanks though :D

Pick 3 PPR

Fitz @STL
Mason vs. IND
Jennings vs. SF
Cotchery @ NE
Crabtree@ GB

Fitz is obvious and I am leaning against Cotchery....thoughts?

Pick 1 PPR

Witten vs. WASH
Winslow vs. NO

Slaton, I hear he will be back to #1, although Maroney has been solid of late. Edwards (Patriots can be thrown on. Indy proved that) and Coles (matchup)

Fitz and Jennings fo sho then I would guess Cotchery. Witten.

Now for my dilemna. I've got 1 flex spot to fill and a ton of guys to choose from: Harvin @ SEA, Forsett @MIN, M.Bell @ TB, Cotchery @ NE or Charles (PIT). Last Week I started J. Jones (inj with 1 FP), and anybody else would have won me the week (I lost by 3 FPs).

Who to play in a PPR league:

RB (pick 2):

Barber vs WAS
Pierre Thomas vs TBB
L Betts vs DAL
S Slaton vs TEN

WR (pick 3)

Closton vs TBB
Vincent Jackson vs DEN
Wes Welker vs NYJ
Sidney Rice vs SEA

I'm leaning towards Barber and Thomas at RB, and then Welker, Colston, and Rice at WR. Am I wrong to bench V Jackson vs DEN (against Champ Bailey). Rice seems like he has a really good matchup this week.

Thanks.

I'd go Forsett I think, although if they fall behind early you could be looking at trouble. It's PPR though and I feel he'll get involved in the passing game.

I think I go Forte, because he is your stud, but man this is a tough one. I think Philly maybe susceptible to the screen pass and check down.

I go Slaton for RB.
I go Edwards and Coles for WR. I think the Jets/NE game will be half a shootout, or at least they will be playing from behind and they will put some points on the board.
I think Oakland will zero in on Ocho, leaving Coles free for a score and some yardage.

Fitz is obvious.
I then go Jennings and Crabtree, I think that game will go to the air, early and often.
I think I go Winslow in the NO game. NO is going to put it on Tampa and they will have no choice to go to the air and he is one of their most consistent threats. Make sure he is healthy though, I read somewhere he was playing on an injured knee or something.

Is this PPR?
Do you get return yards?
I think I go Forsett for the guaranteed workload, although I don't know if that is a guarantee if they fall behind early. This is tough, you have a lot of options.
I think I have to go Forsett.

I have some problems...

.5PPR league, pick 3:
Steve Smith Giants vs. Atlanta
Chad OchoCinco @ Oakland
Marquis Colston @ TB
DeSean Jackson @ Chicago
Calvin Johnson vs. Cleveland.

I'm leaning towards Colston, Calvin Johnson and Jackson.

Same league, also .25Point per rushing attempt. Pick 3:
Matt Forte vs. Philly
Ladell Betts @ Dallas
Kevin Smith vs. Cleveland
Beannie Wells @ St. Louis

I'm leaning towards benching Betts, but I'm really not sure.

Snelling, Maroney, Hightower or Bradshaw...which RB2 would you start?

I'm starting Gore@GB...I'm tempted to start Bradshaw or Snelling since both teams desperately needs a win. Eli might come out throwing the ball so I'd go with Snelling since ATL does run the ball more in the red zone and will be the featured starter....with Turner out and Norwood not 100%....

WR3: Chambers or Laveranues Coles?

I might actually consider Smith over Jackson. Atlanta's pass defense is pretty bad, and you can probably they're coming out of the bye with a game plan to expose that.

I think that's probably right. I might be a bit concered that Betts could get heavy work in the pass game as Campbell's check down guy to counter the Boys' pass rush, but Forte is too good to bench and the other guys have matchups too good to pass up.

I've got almost the exact same situation as your first one (Snelling, Maroney, Bradshaw, and Greene). I'm starting Snelling. Antonio Pierce is out, so their second level just got a little weaker. They've also given up 10 rushing TDs this year, and Snelling's getting that work even if Norwood is back.

I'd go Coles at WR. Pittsburgh's going to demolish KC. In general, without Bowe in the lineup, secondaries are going to start focusing on Chambers.

I'm starting Thomas Jones, Snelling, S. Smith (CAR), and H. Ward as my 2 RBs and 2 WRs. Need flex help (non-PPR) -- Maroney vs.NYJ, Burleson @MIN, Greene @NE, L. Johnson @OAK, or Bradshaw vs.ATL. Leaning toward Burleson. Minny can be beat over the top and Housh is probably going to take some attention away from him this week since TJ something like 17 targets last week.

I'm actually going to have to drop one of those guys for a kicker, in all likelihood. I'm planning on Johnson (it's a keeper league and Greene is Jones' handcuff, so I'm not dropping him). Fortunately, all of his players have 1 pm games, so I'll know where I start by 3:45 and know if I'm going to need a kicker's points or not (although that may be tricky, since I have Rivers, Jones and Olsen playing late as well....)
