Saturday rant...

Post#1 » by Maritimer » Sat Nov 28, 2009 11:30 pm

OK, so I'm reasonably happy with Rivers, T. Jones and Burleson as starters this week. Then I have to choose a WR, RB and flex from this list:

Michael Turner -- if he starts, he'll be limited
Jason Snelling -- depends entirely on Turner
Rock Cartwright -- against Philly's run D
Hines Ward -- Dennis Dixon throwing to him against Baltimore
Steve Smith (CAR) -- On Revis Island, now questionable with rib injury
Shonn Greene -- Not getting touches with Jones playing like this
OUT:
Dwayne Bowe
Ahmad Bradshaw

****, ****, ****.

I thought this was going to be a thread how all your Thursday players ruined your week. :)
That is pretty brutal though.
Any better options on the waiver wire?

Not great options -- Massaquoi, Walter, Avery, N. Washington, Coles. Pretty much nothing for RBs. I think I have to roll with Ward at WR -- he's just been too good this year. I'm VERY tempted to go with BOTH Snelling and Turner, since it sounds like Turner is going to play, but I feel like they'll get a time share. Otherwise, if one is clearly going to get more carries than the other, Cartwright should be good for 80-90 total yards and maybe a TD, right?

Started Ward at WR, we'll see how that goes. Started both Turner and Snelling, thinking I would cover my bases. Snelling goes for 8 yards and a fumble (-2 pts) and Turner gets 33 yds before getting injured again. FML.

Lost by 5 on a late Colston TD. Had I started Cartwright over Snelling, I'd have won by 2. FML.

I lost by less than 1 pt. If Carney would have made the FG late in the Saints game I would have won. It dropped me from 3rd to 6th in the standings. Now I have to win this week to make the playoffs and I am playing the #1 team....FML!
