Well at number 5 I think Thomas will be gone. In my mock I have DE/OLB Gaines Adams going to you guys. Whisenhunt wants to bring the 3-4 defense and Adams will be his first building block.

If Thomas isn't there, I'd go Gaines Adams.

You guys don't need AP, you have Edge.

If Joe Thomas is gone by then, the most likely choice would be Gaines Adams.

Whisenhunt has said many timse that he really likes Adrian Peterson, but we don't need 4 RBs.

Joe Thomas will slide to us though..

1.Oak - They're going to go QB or WR. I have them taking Russell in my mock. They won't choose Joe Thomas.

2.Det - They have a solid LT in Backus, they brought George Foster from Denver and signed Edwin Mutilato from the Ravens. They won't go OT in the first. Every offensive position has been addressed except QB, they will pick Brady Quinn if they can't trade down.

3.Cle - Cleveland also has a decent LT in Kevin Shaffer. They brought in Steinbach and LeCharles Bentley will be returning to their line. Jamaal Lewis is not a long term answer for their RB, so they will pick Adrian Peterson.

4.Tam - Tampa has a hole in their dline, but Gruden has already expressed that he'd be thrilled if Calvin Johnson fell to them. They already addressed LT in free agency by bringing in Luke Petigout, they will not pick Joe Thomas.

5.Ari - This leaves us with a no brainer pick, Joe Thomas is our guy.

Almost certainly it will be Joe Thomas. Gaines Adams or Laron Landry could be other picks at the spot if JT isnt there or if the staff think that a defensive issue is more pressing (which I doubt as JT essentially completes the offense).

I really hope Thomas slides our way, but I havent seen it in any of the mock drafts Ive read. We need some trenchers on O and D lines so AP isnt a good Pick at no. 5 in my opinion.

Here's a pretty reputable one.

All three rounds in that one are outstanding.

Here's another good one.

I'd prefer if we didn't go CB in the 2nd round (since we signed Rod Hood) but Houston is a pretty good prospect.

Perfect first day would be:
R1: Joe Thomas - Gandy is a good signing, but you can't pass on the talent (L. Landry 2nd option, G. Adams 3rd option)
R2: Jonathan Wade - Depth at corner is important for any team. This guy's speed will help tremendously in nickel situations (T. Ugoh 2nd Option, C. Johnson 3rd option)
R3: Ben Patrick - L. Pope can be a great receiving TE, but this guy would be a montser to help establish the run. (B. Davis 2nd option, R. Mcdonald 3rd option)

R1: Thomas - This is a pretty obvious pick, but we won't be drafting Landry in the first round unless Adams, Anderson, P.Willis, Brown are all gone. Whisenhunt is much too confident that Terrance Holt is our answer at FS. (I don't know why either.) The only thing that gives us hope of drafting Landry is him saying that we've covered our positions of need in FA and can go for "the sexy pick," but I would think that's more of a smokescreen.

R2: Did you miss the Rod Hood signing? Ask any Eagles fan, they will tell you that Rod Hood is much better than many other starting cbs in the league. We won't be going CB in the first day. Think Anthony Spencer, Victor Abiamiri, Charles Johnson, or even Paul Posluzney as our second round pick, since they would fill much bigger needs than CB.

R3: I like Ben Patrick simply because he's a great blocker, but OLB is more of a need than TE. With this pick, we need to be looking at Stewart Bradley, Rufus Alexander in this round. A solid blocking TE can be found in the later rounds (Matt Speath.)

Unless someone trades up, he's in the bag.
