No takers for Falcons' Joe Horn

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Mon Jun 30, 2008 2:21 pm

Despite veteran wide receiver Joe Horn wanting to be traded, Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said there is nothing doing on that front. Horn's agent has been cleared to gauge interest in Horn with other teams but, as of now, there are no takers.

The Dallas Cowboys, who could be in need of a veteran wide receiver if Terry Glenn (knee) isn't medically cleared, were one of the teams queried by Horn's agent, but there hasn't been any talk between Dallas and Atlanta about a deal.

"I've made no contact with Dallas or they with me," Dimitroff said in a text message.

What a LOSER!

Horn desperately wants to leave Falcons

Flowery Branch — Falcons wide receiver Joe Horn said he wants to be traded or cut so badly that he has "contemplated" restructuring or forfeiting part of the $2.5 million in guaranteed base salary he's owed.

"I'm even contemplating giving some money back to further this thing along," the disgruntled wide receiver said Tuesday. "I'm ready to get it solved and move on. The longer I stay here, the worse it's going to get."

He wants the Cowboys or Eagles.

Can we just give him away?

Between the two I hope it's Philly and not Dallas. I'd hate for Joe Horn to actually join a true contender like the Dallas Cowboys.

We cut him.

I wonder if he gave back any of his signing bonus.

I think we ate like 2.5 million. Joe continued to say he was injured with a hamstring problem, but the trainers and medical staff never found a problem with it. I also heard them discuss on 680 the fan that Joe didn't even know the play book and he was separating himself from the entire team. I wish we received a draft pick for him, but now I'm just happy this loser is off the team, and now we can move forward.

I think its an official fresh start now.

I can't think of anyone else on the team who doesn't want to be there.

Return to Atlanta Falcons
