Time to move Jamaal Anderson to DT

i think at this point it is highly unlikely that Jamaal will get the speed needed to play DE, but he still has great size, and a great frame and if he can add another 10-15lbs i think he has a shot at becoming a productive DT, nothing great, but maybe close to a guy like Darnell Dockett.

the coaches need to tell Jamaal that he should got in another direction.

He woke up against the Bears and maybe will see more of it .

I was just thinking about that. I got to admit I'm already jumping ahead to the draft as I enjoy what the team is doing now.

I'm thinking DT, but if Jamaal moves inside next to Babineaux, we have a 31 year old (next season) Abraham and nothing on the other end. Should we be looking at the end to stengthen the DL?

^ i think the Birds can get the best player available in next year's draft, except for QB and RB...... Falcons really need a TE or SS/FS but the Birds could even look into getting DL, and LB because Brook, Ab, and Grady are over 30yrs. i also wouldn't hurt to look at the top WR, OL, and FB, because those positions can still be upgraded with the right player.

Its going to be a "strong" safety class.

I bet thats where we look first round.

Anderson does have the speed. In fact, Anderson's got all the tools to be a great defensive end in this league. It's just that he doesn't produce. Just like Michael Johnson from Georgia Tech. He's a beast in the gym, he runs a great 40, but at the end of the day, he'll be lucky to end up with one sack. Anderson is still developing. Every day he is developing. We will not just move him back at DT just because he isn't productive at LE. And we also have Trey Lewis coming back next year, and I hear Dimitroff is very high on him.

If it's a strong safety class, then there wouldn't really be a need to draft a safety so high in the draft because you can always get good value in the later rounds. I'm not saying I oppose of the Falcons drafting Taylor Mays from U.S.C. or William Moore from Mizzou - I'm just pointing out the holes in your 'theory'.

I agree with you there except us drafting a fullback. Why would we need another fullback? Ovie Mughelli is perfect for this offense, and he's one of the best run blocking FBs in the NFL right now. And if we need to, Snelling was a fullback prospect, so he's a solid backup for Mughelli. And keep in mind that there's no need to look for a replacement FB when we spent all that money on one (who's doing a very good job so far) already.
