The Falcons needed this win as much as they need oxygen. Win next week at Carolina and we'll have officially moved past the struggles.

I think the Falcons were actually better against the Jets than it appeared. A lot of issues with the rain that turned would be touchdowns into FGs or nothing. Bosher was friggin great to be honest and our special teams haven't been good this year. That punt that resulted in a fumble was huge.

We finished the game which is what counts. Agree that we have to do it against Carolina. It's really a must win.

Well, a "must win" didn't happen. Carolina made the Falcons look bad. Big, Superman sized QB, ran all over
the birds, the pass defense was their usual and our all star receiver dropped a wide open pass in the end zone.

Sadly, this year's Falcon team just isn't very good.

Where is the running game? Where is that speedy receiver that scored a TD, then went back to the practice squad?
Matty Ice once was pretty good at being a roll out passer. So many little things that once worked, they no longer do.

Like the sun slowly sinking in the west, so is our beloved Falcons, slowly sinking. Soon, it will be over and they will
no longer have the worry about the playoffs because their name will not be in the pot.

Superbowl hangover is completely real and I feel like an idiot for denying it all summer. It's a terrible time for sports in Atlanta.

I hated Kyle Shannahan but he was better than Sarkisian. Sarkisian should be fired now to be honest. This is an offense loaded with talent and we can barely score. It's the most uncreative offense i've ever seen. Same patterns, same plays, no wrinkles at all. It's frustrating.

Sarkisian is very frustrating. The entire team should be ashamed over themselves for the way they've played this season but I hope we bounce back and find a way to make the playoffs.

So, I've been trying to figure out where we went wrong in replacing Shanahan.

Sarkisian has been--underwhelming. There's no denying that. But I get the feeling the mistake we made was trying to force Sarkisian into a Shanahan shaped hole.

WE were gonna keep the same playbook. We had to for Matt Ryan's sake. But perhaps we should have allowed the philosophy of the new OC to shine through more.

Asking a man to emulate his predecessor even though he has no connection to that individual was bound to leave all parties uneasy. The play-caller and the players.

Maybe we keep the playbook, but let the dude call the game he wants to call.

With a better defense this season, maybe we should focus more on a ball control offense.
Or maybe we spread the field and just sling it around every play.
H3ll, maybe we just let Freeman run the wildcat option every single play.

It can't be drastically worse than watching Sarkisian fail at his Kyle Shanahan impression.

(Sidenote: How did we not think to hire Kyle's dad to help as an advisor in the offseason?)

Season changing win today. Hope Devonta can clear concussion protocol before we have to play Seattle next week (this the second concussion he's suffered this season so unlikely) because next week's matchup in Seattle is incredibly important as well.

Sark called one heck of a game, and the defense shut Dallas down other than on one possession where they started at our 25-yard line. Adrian Clayborn sets a Falcons single game record with 6 (!!!!) sacks. He was feasting on Dallas' backup LTs all game.

Read on Twitter

the Panthers (6–3) and Falcons (5–4) aren’t far behind New Orleans...

It hasn’t felt like it all too often this season, but the Falcons remain a legitimate playoff contender. The defense has started to gel as the season’s gone on...

If Matt Ryan can cut down on turnovers — the Falcons could end up working their way out of the so-called Super Bowl hangover and find themselves back in the postseason.

The offense is still too predictable. I don't know if it's the playbook or the play calling but you can tell when they are going to run and you know it's not going anywhere. Protection for Ryan hasn't been good either. But last year we got Coleman out for more short passes and screens that resulted in big plays. We were able to Julio open a lot more and we could hit the TE over the middle better. We need to throw some wrinkles in there because defenses have us planned for. Yesterday the Falcons D was able to keep our offense on the field more and it helped a lot.

Falcons still have a shot, but too long for leapfrogging... damn shame we lost to Buffalo and see NO handle them easily, and Caroilna won't probably lose to Miami... our south rivals aren't gonna f up those games like Atlanta did vs the AFC east.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

They can never make it easy but man, what a win on the road in Seattle on Monday Night! Our playoff hopes are more than alive as we've beaten every team competing with us for the final wildcard. Thank you Blair Walsh.

Big win versus Tampa this week.

We're avg 30 ppg over the past 3 weeks. (Against DAL, SEA & TB)

Nice to see some different plays and Sanu's TD pass was a thing of beauty. That dude is a stud.

Rollouts and hitting Coleman more seem like good ideas.

Sark looks really comfortable now. Birds keep it rolling for the third week in a row, now for our toughest test of the regular season in Minnesota, possibly without Trufant and Poole. Tru's been hitting his stride lately so that's a big loss.

I like Neal but he needs to get himself under control. Leads with the head everytime, delivers pointless hits on guys already down, and now has taken out our best corner on a stupid shot at a guy already on the ground.

The win against Tampa was much needed but we need to close out games better. We have much to improve on but with the upcoming schedule, I hope for the best, and New Orleans host Carolina this Sunday.

I"m just going to go ahead and say it. Falcons won't make the playoffs. Our offense is just anemic. Should we get in I'm not seeing how we'd win a game.
