Edited: Curtis Lofton had an offer on the table from the Bucs, he met with the Saints, and he signed a 5yr contract with them.

Former Falcons middle linebacker Curtis Lofton, who is an unrestricted free agent, is set to visit the New Orleans Saints, Lofton’s representatives confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He also has an offer from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

WSB-TV Zach Klein reported the moves per a league source.

Lofton, the team’s leading tackler over the past four season, was drafted in the second round of the 2008 draft. He had 577 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions and seven forced fumbles. http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-falcons-bl ... he-saints/

The Falcons are looking clueless this off-season.

Not a bad pickup for the Saints if they can keep him away from the deep-pocketed Bucs.

Out of curiosity, how's his pass coverage regarding TEs & RBs?

I'd really like to see Lofton return. I think he can become a future pro bowler and moving forward the Falcons need him.

John Abraham returns with 3-year deal. That's still not enough for most Falcons fan.

I wish him nothing but the worst.
