This Might Not be the Falcons Year

Injuries are ravaging our Birds.
Starting in training Camp and basically getting worse every week since, the injury bug is working overtime to compensate for our good fortune last year and ruin this season.
Losing Mike Johnson in training Camp, the line play has been terrible.
Roddy White, the team's Iron Man, has been severely limited by a high ankle sprain.
Now comes word that Kroy Biermann, starting DE, has been lost for he year to a torn Achilles.
And Brady Ewing, for the 2nd straight year, is injured for the year.
Steven Jackson missed most of the St Louis game due to an injured thigh.
Add in the loss of Todd McClure and Tyson Clabo this offseason...things are looking bleak. Our main weakness for years has been a lack of depth.
And now it's being exposed, repeatedly. Coach Smith has his work cut out for him.

And now comes word that Weatherspoon is out at least 8 weeks and Steven Jackson is out 2-4 weeks.
Our offense will have to carry us big time. Time for Matty Ice to earn that massive salary.
We're turning into last year's Green Bay Packers. All passing, no defense or running game.

If I'm Mike Smith, I sit Roddy White and Steven Jackson through the bye-week.
These guys gotta get back to 100% for the stretch run. The season only gets tougher. No need having both guys play injured all year long.
Bartu, Snelling and Harry Douglas...it's you're time to shine.

I think Roddy at least partially wants to keep his games played streak alive.

I completely agree and understand.
But, with Superbowl aspirations affixed, we need him to stash the ego and sense of duty and start thinking big picture.
Putting him in a walking boot and shutting him down for 5 weeks seems like the only sure fire way to prevent this injury from lingering all season. It was aggravated more than a month ago and he is still ailing. If he refuses to stay off it, the ankle won't be healthy at all this year.
I'd rather he focus on another 1000 yard season than on showing up every week, but being ineffective. He can only be used as a decoy for so many games.
Hell, let's see what Cone and Davis can bring to the table.

I think we'll be fine if we're healthy (or healthyis at this point) by play-off time. Even with the injuries this team is good enough to earn a play-off spot, and by that time Spoon (our best defender) will be back, Roddy and Steven will be healthy, and hopefully we won't be ravaged by more injuries. But until then, here's to hoping that Bartu, Douglas, and Malliciah Goodman step up

Watching us struggle to score against the Patriots. It's...ugly.

Matty Ice throws for 400+ yards and 2 TDs. It's still not enough.
The defense is bad. Our play calling is atrocious. Keeping the faith, though. We're gonna beat the snot out of NYJ next week on MOnday night. That will make me feel better heading into the BYE.

Yup, the only reason we're doing so bad this year is because we choke. Who cares about injuries, I mean I'm shocked too: how are we not winning without half our team.
Players that have been injured this year for the Falcons:
Julio Jones (IR)
Sean Weatherspoon (IR until week 11)
Asante Samuel
Akeem Dent
Roddy White
Sam Baker
Garrett Reynolds (IR)
Steven Jackson
No team would be good if their best defensive player, best Corner, a couple starting O-Lineman, Featured Running Back and 2 best Wide Receivers were injured. But no, we just choke according to you. Troll

How can a last place team choke?
No pressure. Nothing to play for.
You confuse choke with stink.
And yes, we stink.

Don't feed the trolls, Adnin.
it just makes them keep coming back for more.
