Looking for a guard in FA. Andrew Norwell would be the dream but he'll be out of our price range. Justin Pugh would be perfect for our zone blocking scheme and would be an excellent guard for us. He may be in our price range due to his injury history. Josh Sitton is another guy I'd look at.

As for TE, we're in the market for one after we cut Levine Toilolo. Give me Trey Burton or Tyler Eifert on a one-year prove it dea.

Seattle is rumored to have Earl Thomas on the trade block.

NFL Network's Mike Silver believes the Seahawks are "open for business" on a potential Earl Thomas trade.
Having traded DE Michael Bennett and expected to cut CB Richard Sherman, the Seahawks are blowing it up on defense. DE Cliff Avril and SS Kam Chancellor's futures are in doubt due to career-threatening neck injuries. Thomas is healthy and still playing at an extremely high level, so he would make the least sense to part with. Thomas turns 29 in May. He's made six Pro Bowls in the last seven years.

I doubt a major move will be made until Matt Ryan signs a contract extension. The writer should keep that in mind. I would have liked Bennett as an addition to our team, but maybe I'm just thirsty for talent to be added, so we can get over the hump, and have another chance at winning a Super Bowl.

Richard Sherman joining Patriots could be spoiled by four teams.

Atlanta Falcons

Dan Quinn and Marquand Manuel offer the third Seattle copycat destination. Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford had a strong season starting together in Atlanta, but the Falcons were terrible in the slot with Brian Poole. If they were to sign Sherman, it would require sliding Alford back to the slot, where he has some good experience.

The downside here is the Falcons have already invested good money in both Trufant and Alford, and they have only $15 million or so in cap space. Sherman still merits consideration because of the Quinn connection and team's status as a contender. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/richard-sherman-nfl-free-agency-trade-rumors-patriots-steelers-49ers/1m6asbm53u7wh1cyu6wmbkfgva

The longtime Seahawks great is a free agent, but he’s not going to wind up in Atlanta. https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2018/3/9/17100242/the-falcons-are-unlikely-to-sign-richard-sherman-and-heres-why

Vinny Curry as an option??

The Atlanta Falcons have been quiet in free agency, but that could change in the coming week (if only a little) once they carve out some more cap space with a Matt Ryan extension. It just so happens that there’s a player or two who has been cut loose recently that may be of interest to Atlanta, and Vinny Curry is certainly one of them.

The longtime Eagles defensive end has 22 career sacks over six seasons, including a standout 9 in 2014. He’s the same age as Adrian Clayborn, roughly, and like Clayborn has exactly one impressive sack total season to his name. The biggest difference between their production is that Clayborn has been a bit more effective on a season-by-season basis, has a longer history of injuries, and is coming off his best season, which is why he’s probably looking at a contract that will pay him north of $7-8 million annually. https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2018/3/16/17131096/eagles-release-defensive-end-vinny-curry-potential-falcons-free-agent-target

Matt Ryan says Julio Jones is working with Terrell Owens

In a recent piece from Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s D. Orlando Ledbetter, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan talks about his offseason workout plans with Julio Jones.

An interesting tidbit from the end of Ledbetter’s story indicates that Jones, who’s a potential future Hall-of-Famer, is working with recent inductee Terrell Owens.

Ryan explained why he sees the pairing as a good thing for Jones.

T.O. is one of the best workers of all time. . . He learned from Jerry Rice and kind of modeled his stuff after that. I think the more you surround yourself with guys with a work ethic like that it’s a good thing. Julio has a great work ethic, too. He’s one of the best conditioned and best working athletes that I’ve ever been around.
