Vick thread..

Post#1 » by NDaATL » Mon Apr 9, 2007 8:03 am

Can't believe there isn't a Vick thread yet..

Anyway, how do y'all think he'll do in the new system? Seeing as he now has a new coach, a system actually geared towards his strengths, and a coach that will let him audible..

Actually I didn't like the Petrino hiring for the simple fact that the success rate for college-to-NFL coaches is extremely low, but his style lets me be optimistic..

In any case, I'm gonna say 3000 passing yards (depending on receiver play)
700+ rushing
25+ total TDs
about 58% completion percentage.

Back to the probowl and playoffs.

Yeah, Petrino has put pretty big expectations on him. They want him to complete 65% of his passes. But, I think that's a bit of a stretch. They're probably just setting the expectations high. Aim for the sky, I guess.

I'll update this after the draft to see if our O-Line gets help, because that's the thing that is hurting our passing game most. Inconsistent receivers are second after that, but I think that problem will be not nearly as bad as past years. We brought in Hue Jackson, who is a tremendous WR coach. Just look at what Chad Johnson said about him. And, we now have Joe Horn for leadership and production on the field.

IF we shore up the offensive line, within our first 3 picks, then I think Vick's stats will be.

59.5% Completion percentage
3,150 yards passing
25 passing TD's
10 INT's

650 yards rushing, 6 TD's, 6.8 average

If we don't..

2,750 yards passsing
54.0%
21 passing TD's
14 INT's

900 yards rushing, 2 TD's

Oh yeah. And as far as the record goes for the team: I'll update it after the draft. We have a lot of holes on D, and holes along the O-Line. If we can fix them, we'll end up with a good record. If we don't, I expect much of the same as last season.

I hope Vick does good, if we still do bad this season alot of that is gonna come down on Vick. Now that we have Horn and a new coach.

Yes it will come down on Vick and it should. On the other side of things our defense may suck so bad that it takes the heat off of Vick.

I'm sure the attention will somehow come back to Number 7, though. Lol. It always does.
