Falcons QB Shockley leaves with knee injury

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sun Aug 19, 2007 4:53 pm

Falcons third-string quarterback D.J. Shockley was carted off the field with 4 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter after spraining his left knee in Atlanta's 13-10 exhibition game win over the Buffalo Bills on Friday.

Falcons coach Bobby Petrino said Shockley will have an MRI exam Sunday to asses the severity of the injury.

"It didn't look good," Petrino said. "I didn't like the way he looked on the field."

I was listening to someone last week and they said that the Falcons could go out and get a 2nd string qb if Shock and Redman sucked, so I figure that is what the Falcons will do.

Sucks for DJ but atleast I don't have to listen to my sister saying how DJ should be starting.

at this point i don't care. the season was a wash once vick got pinched anyway. that being said, i wanted for shockey to at least get the number 2 spot. it would have been more exciting seeing him play.

Return to Atlanta Falcons
