Hopefully they forget how to stop the run for two weeks in a row. Unlikely, though. I dread this game.

Either way, though, if Dunn is averaging about 2.5 yards a carry, Norwood better get more than 5 carries.

good news is that the Jags are a copy of the Vikings, both with above average athletic QBs and both with two 6'5 DTs.

Mora was an idiots because he never made adjustments, he just keeps using the same game plan over and over again, because he thought his football philosophy was infallible.

Birds just need to us their speed and run to the outside, and for god sakes, get the WRs to catch something down the field.

last week i watched the Colts and Chargers and saw them use Clark and Gates a lot split out.... they where basically playing WR 90% of the game and forcing passes into their hands. the Falcons' WRs are so lame, i think Coach Bobby is going to have to do the same thing with Crump.

The big question: Can Joey and Bobby stay focused?

I agree Harry.

There is no reason to not use Crumpler like a WR so I hope we will see more of it this upcoming week.

I just hope Bobby learned from last week, because even we understand that we won't win by running the ball up the middle, so hopefully we do run outside. I would also like to see Norwood touch the ball more because he's a serious weapon.

At this point, I don't see any players on our team that defenders fear, so that's the one thing about Mike Vick I miss.

^ i don't think the Falcons ran any screens last week..... Norwood seems perfect for screen, it would give him an opportunity to break an 80 yarder.

Which is why our running game will likely slip from #1 to the very bottom of the league this year. Vick made our running game look good because defenses couldn't commit to stopping our backs because of the fear of a bootleg. Now, with that gone and our lack of a deep threat and our hideous O-line, it's hard to imagine us getting any type of running game going all year.

^ i remember last year their was an idiot sports writer by the name of Jason Whitlock who said that Vick owes his career to Dunn... but it just goes to show his lack of football knowledge Dunn really owes his career to Vick. Vick would always freeze one or two DL or LB, just out of respect.

We can't be CHICKEN, we need to run the ball outside, and the points will come.

Most of the guys I'm reading are saying we're the second worst team in football.

I really don't think so.

It really comes down to how well our OL plays. If they play like an average OL I believe we're an average/slight above average team. It's when they play like they did Sunday, we may be the worst team.

Who's the worst? Tampa? Oakland? Kansas City?

I'd say we're in the bottom 3 or 4.

NO is only favored to win by 3 points over Tampa.

I'm a bit surprised by that!

Edit: Now 5 pts

2 missed field goals already!

(3rd quarter) The score should be 13-3, Atlanta, but it's 7-3.

Time to let someone GO!

Two missed field goals, not enough Norwood, and inconsistent protection.

We you convert that many 3rd downs and only score 7 points something is seriously wrong.

No defense should ever stop blitzing our offense. It has a 100% success rate.

1. Special teams
2. Check downs
3. Defense

- Jennings, and the Kicker are the two worst players on the team.

- when the blitz comes, QB has to hit the check downs. FBs and TEs have to step up and give Harrington a good angle for him to throw it to.

- i was high on the defense, and it has looked good, but after watching two games, it is very clear that the DC doesn't preach going after the ball. guys on D have to start thinking about striping the ball and not just making the tackle. defenses like Baltimore and Chicago go after the ball and the defense prides themselves for getting turnovers.

Bright spots this week:

Roddy White - He didn't get any action his way in the 2nd half, but he played very well in the first half. I have always said that the more the ball is thrown his way, the more confidence he'll gain and the less balls he'll drop. He was the main target in the first half and looked like the player we drafted.

Warrick Dunn - Not an amazing game by any means, but it was nice to see him play well after last week. He made some great cuts and his field vision is still remarkable.

Alge Crumpler - Mr. Reliable on a team full of inconsistency. By far my favorite player for that reason.

John Abraham - He did it all. He was running around the OL, through the OL, dropping back in coverage...Clearly a DPOY candidate if he can stay healthy.

Michael Boley - He continues to improve, he looks like he can be a real force soon enough. Always around the ball.

Grady Jackson - It amazes me that he can still go like he goes being that big and playing for that long. He was getting a lot of penetration on their OL.

Players I wouldn't mind being cut ASAP:

Matt Prater - He's got a strong leg, but that means nothing if you can't control it. Michael Koenen part 2, only he can't punt. Is Cundiff still available? He can at least make a 26 yarder.

Lewis Sanders - He's just bad. He plays soft, he's easily confused and he doesn't have any great athleticism to make up for it. Houston at least is fast and strong enough to make up for some rookie mistakes.

0-2 but the Falcons are still in it.

their are no 2-0 teams in the NFC South, so Falcons are only 1 game out

South is one of the very few divisions where it is not clear cut. their is not one dominate team like the Colts or Pats, so it could be a messy fight in the NFC South.

Return to Atlanta Falcons
