I don't really agree with it but I'm not too upset with it. Something clearly needs to change on offense and it's not like we can replace the entire offensive line with quality players. Leftwich brings things to the table that Harrington doesn't, maybe the change will be good. Maybe it won't. I really don't think our offense can get any worse.

It can get worse.
Leftwitch is about the worst QB for the system Petrino is trying to run that I can think of.

Leftwich won't played scared and half ass his throws at least. Joey is a good quarterback when he's confident, but he gets rattled way too easily. At least for our team.

Yeah, he won't half ass them - he'll continue to launch them over receivers heads like he did against Tenn.

You can't really expect a QB who has only been with a team for a few weeks to come into a game in the 4th quarter against a defense that had been dominating our offense all day and be on the top of his game. I'm not saying he's the answer, but it's foolish to judge him by those couple of series.

Its also foolish to think he's ready for this offense now, or that he's an upgrade over Harrington at all.
Plain and simple, he's not a good QB and Joey still gives us the best chance to win this year.

He's not a good QB? He has always been considered a good QB that just couldn't stay healthy.

He's always been considered average at best, with limited mobility and an extensive injury history.
edit - and a slow release

who are you talking about? Harrington or Leftwich?
i always consider Harrington, Leftwich, and Schaub to on the same level, none of the three are that much better or worst then the other guys.
all three guys have their strengths and weaknesses, but overall QB, i don't see that much difference.

Considering Joey Harrington is our starting QB (who most believe is in the bottom 3 of starting QBs), average is good.

Bottom 3?

I don't necessarily agree, but yeah. Especially on this board. Go check that QB thread in player comparisons. If injuries weren't a concern and you could put either QB in any system you wanted, I'm sure most people would rather have Byron.
