Blalock's progress is a sign that some of team's decisions could be taking root.
"Every time he goes out there he's experiencing things that are new," Falcons offensive line coach Mike Summers said. "It's a different speed level, different strength level than he's used to. He's working his way through those adjustments. Some of its been really good and some of it's not been really good."
Blalock didn't have any type of grace period to learn his craft.
He opened his season going against Pro Bowler Kevin Williams from Minnesota. Up next, Pro Bowler Marcus Stroud from Jacksonville. Carolina's Kris Jenkins and Tennessee's Albert Haynesworth had a little something for him, too.
