No contract talks yet with Boley

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Fri Nov 9, 2007 1:12 pm

The Falcons have not yet entered into contract extension talks with outside linebacker Michael Boley, who's having a breakout season.

Boley's agent, Zeke Sandhu, said there has been no contact from the team about extending the contract of its leading tackler (90) and emerging young star. Sandhu said he has not been given any indication that any talks would be taking place in the near future.

With Boley being a restricted free agent, the Falcons could place a one-year tender on the former fifth-round draft pick that would force any team that signs him to an offer sheet to provide compensation.

Should no team make an offer, Boley would become an unrestricted free agent after the 2008 season unless he reaches a deal with the Falcons.

Free safety Chris Crocker also said there has been no dialogue with the team about a contract extension that would keep him off the free-agent market this summer.

Crocker, acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Browns last season, becomes an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He said he would like to stay in Atlanta.

Boley headed toward free agency?

Falcons outside linebacker Michael Boley, who leads the team with 90 tackles and is an emerging star, will be a restricted free agent this spring unless he reaches a contract extension with the team before then. So far, no talks have taken place in that regard, according to his agent, Zeke Sandhu.
