Houston, Coleman up for weekly awards (DH Comments)

Rookie cornerback Chris Houston and defensive tackle Rod Coleman have been nominated for league-wide awards following their performances in the Falcons 20-13 win at Carolina Sunday. Houston is up for Rookie of the Week. Coleman is in the running for Defensive Player of the Week.
Houston, a second-round pick out of Arkansas, finished the game with eight tackles and two passes defensed. He also had several key stops late in the game as the defense held the Panthers out of the end zone. As a team, the Falcons did not allow a touchdown in the game.
Houston's first defensed pass came in the third quarter on a third down, which forced Carolina to punt and led to a Falcons field goal.
