How good was Vick?

Post#1 » by Harry10 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:50 pm

we know now how good Vick was in helping the running game and offensive line.

but, how good was Vick at QB?

for years their has been this battle, one side says that Vick is not a good QB, the other side says that the Falcon's WR drop way too may balls.

Somewhere in between. He had great arm strength but lacked accuracy. His ability to get out of trouble does increase his value as a qb to me. The wr did drop too many balls also.

i think some people where really expecting the Falcons' WRs to explode this year without Vick, White did have some moderate success, but with or without Vick, the WRs where still droping the ball.

I would consider White's progress more than "moderate."

The Saints game when Vick flicked off the New Orleans fan was a good example of how bad our WR's were at the time. They have grown from then and now are able to catch the ball better. They also went after the ball this year and they didn't do much of it when Vick was here.

Michael Vick would have made this team a playoff team. I have no doubt of that. I'm going to have a hard time ever getting over what he did. He was arguably the most talented player in the league and he threw it all away for dog fighting. If Dan Reeves was still here I doubt that ever happens. Vick would be too busy being the best QB in the NFC.

Factor in Crumpler's drop in production also.

It seems as White's production increased as some of the expense of Crumpler.
